s2 fuel problems help!!!!!

Default s2 fuel problems help!!!!!

hi i have a s2 rst and last nite it just stoped! the fuel relay was very hot and had melted a bit on the side could someone help tell me why this is happening!

or what i have to do to stop this happening?

maybe the relay was on it's way out (if they do wear out that is) because usually a high resistance in a circuit (perished wires, dodgy connections etc) drawing a lot of current will generate a lot of heat, hence the meltage.

other than that i dunno, not unless your pump is trying to draw more current, but i think your fuse would blow first as that's what they're for? unless someone replaced it with a higher rating fuse or tin foil

Maybe the fuel pump has gone high resistance and over loaded the relay, it used to happen alot on the old 2.8i capri's (on all 3 that I had).
