Identifying LHD or RHD headlamps?
Is there an obvious way to tell if a pair of Sapph headlamps are for LHD or RHD?
Reference numbers from sticker on the right-hand lamp:
Carello P1370
87BG13005G2A
87BG13NO10EA
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Rich

ok, thanks for the info cossiemen...
not sure where that leaves me... I'm sure they have been used in the uk, so i guess i will have to make a practical investigation and test the beam pattern - i suppose the glass may conceivably been changed over for rhd pattern..

when ordering some new headlights for my cossie a couple of years ago in the U.K. the guy who was selling them told me that I only needed new glasses cause theres a difference between U.K. and mainland ones. Has something to do with the beam like you said yourself
btw, no thanks needed
glad i could sort this out for you

richm the glass has different part numbers for left and right hand, the actual headlight is the same for both hands, i cant remember what part numbers are for what hand so if someone goes and checks their part numbers on the front of the glass you will know for sure. cheers nomad

Ah, Thanks Martyn, that all makes more sense really... I have briefly powered up the lamps and the dip beam lift does appear to be on the left hand side of the beam pattern, so i think they are probably for RHD anyway...
The thing that put me off, is that they have LHD written in silver marker pen on the back of each one..

thats the thing Rich , they may be left hand drive casings but may of had the right hand drive glass put on them at some stage, by getting someone with a set of rhd lights to read off the garello part numbers on the glass its self is the easiest way to find out, if they are left hand drive you could always get a set of lens and change them over.reflectors go dim after time and are an mot failure so if they are in good nick then its worth changing them over for someone. cheers martyn
