Head unit wont play copy CD's, what can i do?
Hi.
The family bus has quite a nice fitted stereo but the biggest problem is that it wont play the CD's i rip from my MP3 collection.
Is there any way that i can burn off CD's that will play in this head unit.
It will play original CD's without a problem.
I normally use Roxio and Verbatim CDR's.
Any thoughts appreciated.

What head unit and model is it? Are you converting the MP3's to CD audio?
It either can't play CD-R's or you're burning MP3 discs and it can't play MP3's.

Not sure what the unit is (the truck is a Chrysler Voyager)
Am definitely burning them as a WAV format, its not an MP3 WAV issue.
They work in my home CD players, just not in the family bus! doh!

I have the factory fit thing and it wont play WAV compiled CD's.
What i need some advice on is whether it is a software burning issue, the CDR's i use of simply whether it is shonky head unit

i always burn music via Musicmatch
as its the main music player on my pc
awesome software and free
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...e+Search&meta=
just create a playlist then click burn
try it. you may never look back
fresh install it scans your hdrive for all songs then creates a Library
job done. click and burn

Older cd players will have trouble playing them.
I have a kenwood disc changer that will not play them, but will "proper" ones.
Most if not all newer ones will though and they are cheap enough.
The reason is that the "proper" cd's are stamped and not recorded the same as computer recorded ones, which use a laser to distort a meatl strip inside the cd itself, saw this on "HOW IT'S MADE"!!
Just the age of the design is what it boils down to, that's why I have to get a new cd changer!!

try a different brand of media for a start before you go ripping the head unit out. I use either datawrite grey or datasafe white's and they usually play on anything. My Focus has the Sony unit in that plays MP3 discs so you can fit about 12-15 albums on a disc.
Though i assume you are just trying to burn a normal audio cd from MP3 tracks, hence the suggestion of using a different brand of media.
I find the expensive media such as verbatim, sony, tdk etc isn't half as compatible as the cheap(er) stuff

It will be worth a chance to see if a different media might make a difference before i go out and buy a new head unit.
Thanks for input everybody.
