my old man pays 350 quid a year for his ticket in the hospitality box thingy for him and hes mate

he gets a meal and free drinks at half time or something like that,,,, thats at the emirates aswell

its cause hes had 2 season tickets for over 10 years and now hes got a illness with hes eye and there sensitive to sunlight and the disabled places are on the outside where the sun comes directly on hes eyes and dangerous to him so they moved him to the boxes where the companys get for looking after the club

he still pays the disabled rate to and as hes got sight issues hes also allowed a carer with him too

but then hes a share holder,,, been a arsenal fan for all his life and used to sell programs there when he was 15 to watch the games ect

but hes still a lucky fucker for getting that,,, cant belive they agree to do that but then he has got a very rare illness and he is going blind slowly due to it

he used to pay 1400 quid for his northbank tickets each just above the goal in the middle and at the old stadium and he had to give up them seats at the emirates due to his sight issues,,,, think thats why they looked after him as hes had that seat since i bought it for him when i was 15 and the guy who was beside him was turned into hes best mate but then dieds so he took over hes seat too

and YES my old man loves football more than hes son

That's a concessionary ticket though, so doesn't count...

Spurs aren't far behind Arsenal though - £1,064.50

As a non football fan (I am a proud egg chaser), these prices seem absurd! It's not just the ticket, but a few beers, transport to and from the game, adds up to silly cash. How much is chelsea out of interest? or man utd? bet they can charge what they like.

I can't remember what my first season ticket cost me in 1990/91 but have found my renewal forms for 1992/93 season - £136 and for 1993/94 - £149 That was for 21 games when the PL had 22 teams in it, also this was before the Kop became an all-seater.

Doing a search on Google produced this....

1989-90, the average price to watch Manchester United was £4.71; it was £5.41 to go to Anfield, £6.71 to see George Graham's Arsenal. The lowest prices, to stand, were a good deal cheaper than that.

Roughly, they have put the cost up by 600% since then, while, according to the Office for National Statistics, prices in general rose around 82% over the same period. At Manchester United, most tickets are between £30 and £37 now, Liverpool charge mostly £32 for category B games, £34 for category A, while Arsenal charge between £32 and £66 for category B games, £46 and £94 for category A.
A 600% increase is just insane

Hearts season tickets start at £250, the dearest one is £425.

Not sure about Rangers/Celtic etc, although would assume they would be more expensive?

How much do you pay for away tickets?

I've not paid less than £20 for around 3 years now (league 1 + Championship). Add that to fuel, food, beer and it becomes a costly day out!

I used to average about 35 games a season, but not anymore. Its just too much money

I gave up doing away games after the 2000/2001 season and last season even gave up going to all cup games. Some of the prices charged, especially by the London clubs were extortionate - most clubs categorise games into A,B & C games and teams like L'pool, ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal are all Cat A games. In the season 2000/2001 I did every home and away game, all cup games home and away, 2 European trips to the UEFA semi final at the Nou Camp and the UEFA Cup Final in Dortmund, plus 3 trips to Cardiff. That season cost me a fortune!

Even L'pool have Cat A & B games both for the home and away fans, but it's only a £2 difference. Also, away fans always pay more than the home fans do.

I will only be going to PL home games this season too. I can see all the away games and cup games either on the TV or by live streaming. It costs me just under 2½ galls of diesel to get there and back + £2.60 for the tunnel and £1.50 for a cup of coffee in the ground, so that's approx £14-15 extra per game x 19.

The fans who don't have season tickets and pay full whack for a match ticket (that's if they can get a ticket) pay on average £2.50 more per match.

Liverpool's prices from last season:
STAND CATEGORY A PRICE - CATEGORY B PRICE
Kop Grandstand A£32 B£30
Main Stand A£34 B£32
Centenary Stand A£34 B£32
Paddock A£34 B£32
Anfield Road A£34 B£32

PS Don't forget the new fixture lists come out at 10:00am today
