I really want an XBOX360 with Forza 2 atm.

BUT! I don't know anything about them apart from Forza looks awesome fun and I'm bored of my PS2 and fancy a new toy.

Where is the best place to get one with either just a console or with just Forza cheaply?

Is it a good idea to get a used one or not? As the local CashConverters has just the console for 220quid. Is that a good deal or not?

What are all the different types of 360 available all about?
I've also heard some stuff about them being really un-reliable? Is that true or just unfounded hear-say like alot of things.

I just want mine for playing the hell out of with just me and maybe my brother and dad really. Not into 'net gaming or anything sad like that, it's just gonna be used for fun as a toy.

get one brand new with warrenty if your going to get one at all. mine has been back 3 times now

Pro Evo 6 is fuckin wank, Fifa was killed when they only allow u to use the analogue stick for direction,gonnna nip out to the shop now and get either Test Drive 2 or Forza 2

Most places have one now, i even noticed one in Scarborough at the weekend Sometimes they're found inside Blockbuster video too

If that deal is all in order for a new console and warrenty etc, I'll probably go for it.

 

what you want is the 360 premium
as that will come with the hard drive, wireless controller and all the hd cables etc

you also want to get the after market colling fans as its over heating that causes them to fail, when you get the fans on they will be fine

forget test drive now forza 2 is out

since i got forza ive been on it non stop such a truely awsome game

 

I doubt I'll need the HD cables or anything like that as it'll be on either a portable or just a 28in Sony CRT TV.

I don't plan on using it online either and aren't really bothered about wireless controllers.

What is the idea behind having the harddrive?

 

The hard drive allows you to download trial games and demos from microsoft.

I would personally buy one brand new with warranty. Not sure if there are different versions, but I think there could be an overheating issue with the chip.Don't buy the intercooler, it blow's air into your 360 as apposed to blowing air out.

I'm just think a basic core system with just Forza to start off with. I'm not really into online gaming or getting trials and demos tbh, I just like to get on and play whatever for a couple of hours.

I just really want one as toy for a little bit, then maybe sell it on in a few months time.

fan is exactly the same i use mate except it hasnt got the leds

as in whats the point when its at the back of teh console

just means more money for lights

oh and if you get forza 2 you will be designing your car more than what you will racing

my mates doing me a graphic for my car and so far we spent 14 hrs yesterday just to do the head

ive just won a car off the auction which has a very sexy anime bird on it, except he never locked the design so i can use it and modify it the way i want but no need as i just have to cut a couple of little things to get the full effect

 

you need to go online with it mate

else the games just get boring

alls you have to do is but a cable into the xbox and into a router or your modem and your away

Well my 2 pence worth mate,

Mine was one of the first generation ones and it lasted a good 2 years before it shit itself but to be fair about 2 years life is about right i think as it was left on pause for days at a time and often left on for weekends etc so i'm happy to replace it every couple of years.... and i've never ever used a cooler and most of it's life it is buried under a load of shit

Yes get the premium pack mate as you get everything INCLUDING the ethernet cable

Now modded console or not is a tough one mate as it means you can't go online with it anymore but then games become near enough free (£5 posted) but online gaming is fucking fun at first but does get a little boring after a bit so thats upto you mate but for the money you save i would get a modded one first then a normal one in a couple of months or something?

Oh and you need HD thats the whole point of next gen console mate i've played on normal tv and it is shit!!!!! if you have a tft/lcd monitor then you can have 99% HD with a lead from pc world or what ever and thats just as good mate just a bit smaller lol

It's just a piece of standard cat5 ethernet cable bodged up to sound like something amazing, that only works with the Xbox. Any piece of tatty cat5 will work perfectly fine.

Same thing that makes me laugh about cat5 cable at PC world, you'd think it was made of gold the prices they charge for it

ive got a x360 and ps3 have tried both on a normal tv

but on my 42 inch plasma FLAWLESS

and AS the chipped reprogramed 360s wont work online anymore..

Looked into it a bit more today, and think the Premium set-up offers alot more value for money. As you get all the little bits for the console, plus the two actual games I want.
