The way it drives now with the new box is much better it gets loads more traction, and even when it does spin it still pulls straight not all over the road.

Would have been intersting to have seen Wuls and Davies graphs overlayed I had a copy of Davies graph up until a photobucket clearout a few weeks ago...wish id kept it now

Not sure if i have any pics donny but I will have a look.

Its on of my friends cars that AVA built.

2.1 ZVH with steel bottom end/big valve head, UT T38 and AVA management.

made 272ATW in 4th gear

Melted a plug and its got some seepage on 3 and 4 pistons. Having a rebuild but not sure of spec yet!

I saw yours as well! (its always there though )

I saw your car when i was through with Wul looked nice, think your engine was on the stand in the engine room next to the box of bits that is my engine From what i was told yours is getting stripped then mine is getting built in the next couple of weeks.

just as well i still have it then andy,lol.
ive already studied it,the maps are very very similar,mines makes power faster though,and power peaks earlier,more or less same boost though.

yeah m8,it goes well,keeps you on your toes anyway,i would think it would be close to the 300,wait till weather bit cooler then 3rd gear run and we see what happens.

Amazing car just got to love s1

must admit i do fancy one again but a 3dr is a dream im yet to fulfil

If i ever did get another s1 i would go for that power and possibbly 4wd if money permits

What's all this bollocks running up in different gears? How are u supposed to get a consistent reading? If the gear is effecting the power readout, then so will the ratio. So an S1 with same engine will read higher than S2, which will read higher than a cossie. Suddenly flywheel figures don't look so bad

wuls car has always been run up in 4th gear,even at the rolling road day last year it was run up in 4th,so the consistent reading comes from the fact that its always been rr in the same gear
as said it would make more power in 3rd gear as most other rr's run in

did davies red turbo come from a lad in east kilbride when he got it. Prob bog standard apart from exhaust and chip.

Think its my mates old turbo looking at the reg.

Cars have to ran in dif gears due to grip levels on the rollers.

The ideal gear for AVA is 3rd but my car and often big power FWD cars cant get enough grip to give accurate figs.

To answer your question, yes if my car could be ran in 3rd it would prob make 20 bhp ATW more than it does just now and yes cars with short final drives I.E race cars tend to make more power than ones with normal boxes.

I believe this is better than fly figs as this is actually true BRAKED horsepower made on that run and involves no calculations or computer wizardry to invent a flywheel fig.

Before i knew DD RR used 3rd gear, i always believed 4th (usually Direct) was the best gear to run for true figures.



But i still believe if the RR is loading correctly it should make the same power in any gear? as long as full traction is achieved.

But then again being in a lower gear will help temps.
