Yeah be good to have your own workshop at home so to speak as you don't have to worry about the land owner selling it from under your feet lol

Mate, its 50 quid a week for the house next to it (which used to be the old human resources block and is now converted for living in)

We have it cause basically we act as security to keep all the drug addict squatters out, and in exchange we get to use it.

The reason its short term is it will be getting knocked down to build houses, as its now owned by barratt, so we are just there till that happens.

Double handy price

Have they said when your out yet?

Yeah there are plenty of levers in the current place that if you switch them on they will live a 10,000 volt 600A cable right next to you thats been chopped off and has the live end sticking out (2 inch in diameter)

That substation is definately not a good place for conducting (no pun intended) drinking games

he not fucking about either, even being in that room feels dangerous, can feel the electric in your chest, if you pulled one of them levers i dont think theyd find any identifiable remains of you, and TBH i think the whole place would go up bigtime if you pulled the right ones, or all of em.

would be a epic mass suicide if some emo's fancy a go

awesome place that

I would be concerned about a low level hum being emitted from the substation. Where I live it’s very quiet, and I can hear the next door neighbour’s hot tub pump running. It’s very annoying. Have a good listen when you go and view the property.

If I like it when I go and see it during the day I will pop back late at night when its quiet and see if I can hear anything in the road outside

Its bad, they big ancient looking things, with all kinds of dusty old warnings on them, they big and you just want to hear the clunk and the sound of the bastard huge generators spooling up.

Thing is, you wont, youd die instantly

Thats kind of the problem though mate, its the sort of place you buy with the view to having kids there later on, as its such a pleasant place for them and got a good sized paddock for them to play in etc.
But not much good if they end up with 8 toes on their left foot

chip back to the seriousness

the substation puts out more i know, but ive worked in a rail depot for 8ish years, with 16rds of 25KV lines running overhead about 20ft high.

theres plenty of people who have worked there alot longer than me, some 30+ years, and everyones pretty much healthy, and most have had many kids over the years

Tho, if you get a fluorescent tube and hold one end on the ground in the dirt, the other end is some 18ft away from the cable, it lights up

Looks a very nice place

Always something which puts you off with any property, only you can decide if you can live with it.

Good luck when you view it.

youd need a foookin long broom handle, esp if you knew where most the wires ended

and frankly, with wires about 6inches thick, i bet you it could shoot lightning bolts across to the other side of the factory anyhow

sadly, thousands of people and dogs die of cancer every year and something as simple as diet can play a part in it. it may not be related to the electricity at all, but it may.

we are so reliant on electricity these days that even if it was harmful i am sure that the public would never find out
