The actuall spec from the designers is 5w/40....

It has always run on Mobil 1 since i have owned it, and the guy before.
When the engine was taken apart it was "MINT"
Hence why i MUST run it on that for my own peice of mind

only piss thin !! at all operating temps !!
only ever had trouble with it in the rally car - but thats when the temps are at a contstant 120 deg !!

In a rally car I would agree, 10w-50 or 15w-50 would be better although a good ester based 5w-40 would also work in a rally car.
