The government are proposing to ban all cars over 15 years old from British Roads. They are claiming this is for environmental and safety reasons. This means that in 2007, any car which is older than an J reg would be banned. This would include cars such as 3 Door Cossies, Series 1 & 2 Escort Turbos, S13's, Mk2 Golf GTi's, Corolla GT'i's, etc etc To sign a petition against this proposal please click the link below:

Would cause too much hassle as all the low income earners etc would never have a car etc...

Plus too many business's? would go nigh on skint etc

Never mind the online petition [anyone can set one of those up], where's information on the proposal to ban ALL cars over 15 years old???

I'd like to see details of it

Something that could potentially put 10's of thousands of people out of work [motor factors, mechanics any subsidiary industry dealing with Classic Cars ] ???

It would decrease Road Fund revenue by a huge amount and let's not mention all the people with Classic Cars like Astons, MG's or whatever who are invariably those rich enough and with the power to be making these types of decisions in the first place.

The government wont do that as they'll lose to much money through car tax. Loads of people can't afford new cars so they lose out on that tax
