Default silverstone today, the jap event and drifiting

any body else make it up to silverstone today, saw a few cossies in the car park?

gota say it was alot quiter than i thought it would be,
but the driftint was awsome up close,

and there was some awsome driving going on in the time attack sessions,

the reyland three door was there and looked very good through corners.

nearly didnt make it there after the skyline popped a boost pipe at 172 on the way there, proper ball ache, but managed to limp home and fix it, picked up luke89 and set of again .

over all top day, and gorgouse weather

Was good, really enjoyed it, tho I was totally fucked, long day and literally no sleep the night before.

The weather was great, the drifting was awesome, and the cars in time attack, though obviously not as exiting to watch, are absolutley unreal

Heres a few pics I didnt take, but have been put on the net already...

How much steering lock on Bons Chaser there

Lots of disasters and fixings over the weekend, the Roger Clark guys luckily bringing a welder so manage to weld one of the Skylines gearsticks back on was a stroke of luck

Norris was dead unlucky, went there on a standard box and hoping to not break it, and instead bust his usually bulletproof engine

The Yellow RC Evo is just incredible

Nadines new satin black new shape Viper is just insane, and its in Club class FFS No suprise that it wont the N/A class aganst a load of FWD TypeRs

Most insane/unlucky person of the weekend was Hudson in the white R32 drift car. Was amazing in qualifying on Friday, came 2nd, didnt put a foot wrong, then blew engine and turbos (GTR RB26), spent all weekend flat out (i mean NO sleep, I got a text 3.15am from his mrs saying they JUST finished and were driving up to Silverstone ) fixing it, spent 4500quid that weekend, only to spin out in the last 16 and go out
To say he was gutted is an understatment, his season over now as he cant afford to carry on after that, and hasnt got a sponsor

did you see te blue skyline catch fire?

those are some awsome picis steve, luke89 was trying to work out if you were there with the camera lol,

some awsome pictures there.

i thought the fensport celica would be more passie through the corners,
i couldnt believe how nuetral the three door looked through the corners compared to the thechnicaly advanced evos and scoobys

I wasnt there with a camera mate, we had a photographer, well, two, and them pics are Ross's from Doristars.

I was in the pits most of the time (either where the Sierra and RC Evos were, with Bon etc with the DW cars, with Hudson and Luney with the Skyline and SVA 350), or in Brooklands etc watching the drifting.

Zippy,
According to Dan as well, the Sierra just did NOT want to do corners, so the fact that you felt it was impressive goes to show how good it will be with some actual preparation carried out .

it just looked tidy, seemed to be picking lines really well,

where as the evos/scoobys seemed to be struugaling between understeer on the way in and woobly on the way out.

what power does the sierra make compared to some of the other competitiors,

About half .

Should run 605bhp in full boost format (2.2 bar), but I think he was running around 1.5 bar yesterday? So just over 500, or about half the power of the RC Evo . So the fact that he finished 4s behind this car says something about both cars / drivers I think .

I'm at Croft in September?

Refusing to do RSOC ND this year on the basis of making a stand on how we were TOLD how it was going to be regarding the track time.

Aye mental skill, esp in the twin battles, bottle too.

When normal drivers are coming down Club Straight and slowing and changing down into 2nd to go round Brooklands, they foot to the floor in the middle of 4th gear and giving the wand a quick tug

If its your at the front in the twin drifting deemed to NOT be flat out down the straight as they initiate for the 1st corner (ie well over 100mph) you are actually docked loads of points or even disqualified, as happened to Niall Gunn this weekend
Reason is, you could try n cheat by going in gay and slow against a much less powerful car, then accelerate away from them.
