Default Best way to secure a CV gaitor

1 of my inner cv gaitors keeps popping off and its really getting on my tits.

its only just started to happen since ive used the car this year, last year it was fine. i have fitted a 3inch bore exhaust system and it is abit closer to the same gaitor but not too bad, its the only thing ive changed
ive tried using normal cable ties but it didnt work, then i tried an extra chunky cable tie and even the metal type but they still dont work. what else can i use cos i dont really want to change the gaitor if i dont have too

did you clean the inside of the gaitor first mate where the clip would go round?

if not then you wont get a tight fit due to the grease slipping it off

the metal straps thats used on them should hold up very well though

is the gaitor a snug fit on the shaft?
if it's not then it could be that it's getting bunched up and thats whats making it slip off

you can buy the proper metal clips seperately in batches of ten, get it nice and tight before crimping and it should be fine mate

I used a jubilee clip on the driveshaft of a mondy auto 4 years ago and perfectly ok, can't feel a thing, the amount they weigh compared to a driveshaft is nothing to worry about.
