Stg3 cossie Boost shut down to just 16PSI?? Why
My mates just called about his drive home in a stg 3 sapphire, it usually hit 27PSI then tales off to 21 but he opened it up today and it just sat at 16PSI MAX Any ideas why?
I said it sounded like he hit the boost limit and he shoud pull over switch it off, check for boost pipes etc then try again, sure enough nothing looked wrong under the bonnet but when he started it up and headed up the slip road it hit full 27PSI again
Why though, whats the problem, he had a miss fire on boost yesterday too but we think that may be cos it was totally soaked?? dizz leads and cap etc were wet not just damp.
Ideas please

It might click while its on the spot running but if it drops its boost again after you check it its worth swapping it over with a known working one just to eliminate it fully.

Amal clicks fine so cant go by that if it is faulty, its intermittent by the sounds of it.
27? it was more than that originally and doing 354bhp but we thought it taking the piss a bit so knocked it off till its given the once over by Stu, I believe his stg3 set up runs similar 26peak and 21 hold so not concerned

Mine has cams and head work. Need to turn the boost down on mine as the inside of the turbo and plugs are white due to leaning off at high revs I think.
