Why though?
Think of it in terms of cars. Think of a MR2 done up to immitate a F355. Or any 3 series BMW with a M3 badge on. Or some of the abominations that are on eBay as "Escort Cosworth FULL replica"
People that know, will know when it comes to Watches. And you'll be no better than the guys with the cars above. Far better to either save up and buy a genuine Tag/Rolex/Omega (better if its for an anniversary or something IMO) or spend the £100 or so on a genuine but cheaper watch such as a Pulsar or a Seiko.

I cant speak for Rolex's but I kow several people with Genuine Tags. And they wear them all the time. They get mucky and wet and they still maintain time. And the paint finish doesnt seem to to be wearing. They seem fairly hardy to me.
But I can see your point as to not ruin it by wearing it when welding for example.

Thats exactly what I think, they're cheap for a reason!!
He's not exactly short of a few quid so I don't know why he's being so tight. My bird is going to buy me either a Rolex or an Omega.... but I have to buy her an engagement ring

I bought my Tag a few months ago, alot of money for a watch and the misus nearly killed me but makes you feel good wearing it and knowing its genuine !!
Plus its nice to spend money on yourself rather than the car !!

I have to admit I hate fake watches ... not sure why but I just do! I wear a Submariner more or less everyday it gets quite a lot of abuse too as im always messing about with cars and other crap along those lines ... still works fine even though its several years old.

Hate fakes with a passion, as soon as anybody sees a a decent watch these days they automatically think it's fake. I've got a genuine Senna Tag, paid over 2k for it and you can tell people think it's fake, even thought the fakes are soo easy to spot, but Joe Bloggs doesn't have a clue. To me it's about owning a proper watch and knowing its genuine that matters, I'd rather have a decent £100 watch, than a pish replica that costs £20 to make, but charge £100 anyday.
