OMG i cannot BELIEVE the size of the lump of shit that came out of my ear this evening after lindsay shringed it.

Been deaf if right ear for last 4 days. Been putting warm olive oil in, and lindsay shringed it yesterday and got some pellet size lumps out...still deaf. Then today after more oil, i got out of bath and though hmmm, it feels like it could be ready

So she gor the shringe, and after a few goes she said OMG its coming out, one more go and FOOK ME Im NOT kidding it was like the size of a maltezer Wax and dust from work

Anyone else had it done. I know its a shitty subject but i truly cannot get over what came out of my lug

Ive had it done loads of times to my ears

Go round to nurse at the health centre and she does it, nothing worse than not being able to hear out of one ear.

Before anyone says its down to not cleaning then, your wrong

I had it done, was death as a bat, balance all gone to pot etc

Had some dropps to use for a few days, then had them seringed at the doctors, not a lot came out really , well virtually nothing.

But fek me it felt nice to have it done and could hear instantly.

Had mind done when i was 18 going for an RAF medical , and a ball of cotton wool come out!!!!!!!!!!!! probably been in there years couldn't remember putting any in at the time.

yeah lindsay has been laughing at me cos i cant believe how god that ear is now...i cna hear loads

It blocked up about 2 years ago, and i soaked it in oil and bits kept coming out and i could hear again so dig nothing about it. But it must have just got worse and worse cos this lump was like shocking

Must be the crap and dust i work in.....must admit though, there was some tissue coming out too....must stop cleaning them with stuff Supposed to leave ya ears alone

Got mine done back in Dec for the 1st time as i was almost totally deaf.

A thing the size of a granite chipping came out of one and was rock solid

Just had my left one done again on Fri as it went all to pot last Sat causing me to miss the Cumbria day.

Doc has put it down to using the yellow expandable foam ear plugs we need to use when going on the choppers to go offshore. He said that these things push any crap thats in there down into the ear canals so after a long period it becomes a problem.

There are other factors as well but i wont bore you with it.

i havent had it done before, but do remem when having a good rake out in my ears with cotton buds, some pretty big lumps of like black/brown hard wax cme out. was quite concerning to think its in there lol

i might go doctors and get them to clean my ears with this thing then, im intriegued. Im not expecting them to find toy cars or anything mind, just help me hear a bit better

Got mine done in holand last summer whilst working out there, i would genuinly say i was 80% geaf at that point so got sent to the docs out there cause i ended up with an ear infection and the pain was unbelievable.

Anyway 2 cans of ironbru came out and hey presto i had hearing like superman. The dutch doc was saying do you want me to do it now or come back in a couple of days after some oil in there, i said just do it now, he then asked me another 5 times if i was sure cause it would be mega painfull, i replied in the true british way and said "dont worry i'm british hard as nails"

Ive had one of my ears done a couple of times now. On holiday sand from the beach & suncream equal a bad mix. When you then add the draft/chill from your airconditioned room = severe pain.
After that the thought of warm watter being jetted into your ear sounds well appealing & go's down a treat.

In my experience Doctors dont encourage it and will only have a Nurse do it as a last resort. Wax serves a purpose & as folks have said your hearing does become a lot more accute after being syringed. I believe that the thinking is that your ears can be to clean, to sensitive as a result and can end up dammaged.

the wax is there to keep your ears in top conition, digging it out just means there will be mroe wax produced to replace it

don't be jamming cotton buds or anything into your ears as you can damage the hairs and stuff or even push the wax further in

but saying that i squirt my ears once a week with warm water just to keep them clean

Got it done few years back.. ok more than a few.
I was to dj at a club and the weekend before that I felt as if I had started to loose my hearing in my headphone ear. Feck me.. I'm going deaf!! (not death BTW)
Put some ear cleaning solution in there to see if that would help.. nothing. I said F' it. put more drops in and left it in there over night.. Next day with warm/hot water I attacked my ear.. I swear a huge Raisin came out of there
Ever since then I try to clean them out once every couple months.

I've heard of ear candles which are used to remove the wax from your ears. They are from herbalist shops if you want to try it at home!!

I used to have mine done regular: at least 3 or 4 times a year. Mainly down to the fact I have hairy inner ears and my canals are twisty so the natural wax doesn't always escape as it should compared with not so hairy or twisty ear canals. I work on aircraft and sometimes use earplugs as well as ear defenders and as said, they don't help. Plus with the loud aircraft noises the ear produces wax to protect it so I have over active wax-producers to contend with.
I use olive oil every other week now and this has helped to keep the build up down so I maybe need them doing once a year, which is a big improvement.

If anyone hasn't had this done and is scared, they have no need to. It doesn't hurt. If it does then the nurse is doing it wrong. It does actually feel quite nice if I'm honest. I think it's the constant squirt of water reverberating off the eardrum gives a satisfying tingle. You know when you have an itch on your back and someone gets it just right..that's what it's like. If you've had it done, you'll know what i mean and how it feels. (Tha'ts not why I keep having it done btw..lol)
