good to see some constructive comments being made, makes a refreshing change so, just as a guide, what would the rough spec be for a RELIABLE 600 BHP+ 2 litre YB??

As you guys know, the Cosworth or any of the Ford RS range was ever available here in big ole V8 country USA. To some of us in the "know" people like Martin, Steve Scott, Mark are legends! Why? well because we read and see(videos) of what they've done! I've Met Mark, went to his airplane hanger of a tuning shop and had a very good chat with him, and this was Late in the evening when he was about to close, Excellent conversation we had! I've met Stu at Central day, he was also a very cool dude, and I've heard Great things on his ECU tuning skills. I've met Martin at Nat day and "To me" was like wow!!! i've only ever seen you in magazines and videos! he's like a star to me the same feeling I felt when I've met Mark! I've been in Popeye's car for central day and was impressed! I've heard about Karl from NMS and though he sounds like he knows his shit too! I've read some of Karls posts(including the one with myself) and though he was such an arrogant person! But now after reading that he's offered Ranj a ride, and in a non argumentive way, I'll think different! it sounds like a genuine offer, in a genuine tone. I just hope everyone sorts out their difference's and realise we should be here to support eachother! What's better than one supertuner? a group of Super Tuners!!
I would use for my Tuner....Mark,Stu,Martin,Steve, and Karl. Each one has proved something to a certain point! As it is now though, my Tuner here in the NYC will build my next big power engine, hopefully with some ideas from these guys!

Before i even got my 2wd saff, i had met Rod Tarry somewhere and half hour talking to him convinced me that i wouldnt be takin my car anywhere other than mark. I didnt have much knowledge of cossies then so i thought if MAD is good enuff for a 500 bhp cossie as it was then, then its good enuff for me. Cant complain about anything Marks done.

10000miles is not for me reliable. a 600bhp engine cost very much.

maybe a millington engine like martin hadland did.

This is better , we are getting there , our assault on Karl was to get him to prove his claims maybe this is the first step .Can the 0-200 time be taken at the same time ,as this is the secret of doing it at Brunters , mine was sub 23secs so thats your Target Karl. Do that & you can pull it down Brunters.

The Spec below will give 614bhp/508 ft/lb @ 2.2 bar
On the road it runs 2.5bar so circa 640/530.
The Nitrous can be used as reqd. up to a 150shot.

My last MAD conversion lasted 23k before requiring a re-build. Turbo & Inlet cam being well worn at this stage. Fast to the end it recorded 0-100 8.1 & 181.8 on its last run despite these probs .
No reason to doubt my new conversion will last as long if not more so as i have had the best of everything fitted .

Got a good list of 0-100kmh, 0-300kmh, and even better, 100-200kmh, and 200-300kmh times, so if you can find the results for that Rod (dont the timing equipment calculate it all at once?) then got some good comparisons, i think youl be pleased

TBH, i havent 'chose' a tuner yet, however, after reading all this post thoroughly, and after talking to Gus, Craig etc, as soon as i get me GRS on, ill be taking a drive upto to Stu to set up me car and make sure its running as it should be. The mina reason for this is not one bad word has been said about him (although im not sure if thats cos he's the gaffa LOL )

Jock, you seem to be a little short sighted, and if anything rather argumentative or perhaps jealous?. If you understood the spec of my engine you would not doubt the bhp. However I don't want this to get out of hand as it almost seems like people have a jealousy problem. As I've said I don't want to argue about it, or indeed have people tell me to put up or shut up. I find these comments EXTREMELY insulting. I tell you my engine and car can achieve these figures because it's what I've peronsally tested. I don't have to prove my worth to anyone, as I'm well aware of what is achievable. If you doubt my car in anyway, feel free to come and have a look at my engine. Ranj, why don't you pop by mine and come take a look for yourself. I may even take you for a little test run and show you 200mph on the GPS.
A couple of points to make about your comments Karl

A I am far from jealous mate, i have no reason what so ever to be,

B Argumentative, i am inclined to disagree with you again mate,

C Insulting, those in glass houses should not throw stones, you are not exactly a saint when replying to certain topics on here yourself, if any thing you can be dam right rude and belittling,

My point has always been, you are considerd a very intelligent bloke, and are all to aware of the power of the internet for a good argument, i find it incredible how you could not see that by saying your car has done 200mph you would not start a mass debate, which for some was always going to turn in to a prove it put up or shut up argument. You are far to smart to think that this would not happen.

my next point is, if you have managed 200mph before then how come you had a gearbox then and not now, if this was done on a public road then that is another matter all together,

I have and never foresee doubting your abilities as a tuner and do not doubt that your engine does in fact make the power that you claim, it really appears to me that you like to try and turn things in to a your all picking on me scenario, which i am not and have never had a reason to.

In the world that we live in i am sure that you can see that by making such a claim that your car does 200mph you are always going to get doubts, you put your self in that position for your reason, now please stop crying foul when other question it and doubt it, because fact of the matter is until you prove it they will continue to question it, and that is plain for all to see.

On a side note Arrogance, i have not witnessed such an arrogant statement as to say it is relativly easy to acheive 200mph in a cossie, for you it probably is, but to other probably not, i do not think that is a very humble thing to say and makes you look very arrogant.

However when i am asked about tuners for cossies your name is one of the first that i mention because i beleive that you do know exactly what you are doing, and it is the internet that has made me aware of your abilities,

I'd never had my car tuned before this year

I chose the tuner (Karl as you all know anyway!) as he offered the best for what i had and wanted.

I'm gonna be using him again when I step up to greens next year (when i get my car fixed thanks to that fooking fox)!

I took my car to him at 9amish, I left his after 6pm. He spent all day sorting my gremlins out.. He has the "i aint stopping til its finished" attitude.

My brother also took his car to Karl's. suffice to say, he is also using him again.

Anyways, next time i'm down the midlands, i'll shout you a pint Karl

Not as simple as that
Top speed not from a standing start

Think Mark backed off around 170 on the Sprints so none will be official above this.
unofficially 95-201.8 is 15secs as i have a timer in the car activated when going into 4th & 100% throttle. 0-95 around 6.5 say hence my circa 0-200 of 21.0ish.
Im claiming this ala Karl . Infact i will round it down to 19.9 it sounds faster.
Rod
ps. It may be possible to get a full set if increments above 170 were recorded on the Topspeed runs i suppose.

pps. Im removing my sig from most posts now ,as its getting up some peoples nose ive been informed.
