Default Alloy cleaning (engine parts)

Is there a chemical that u can dip parts ie T/body to clean then???

Don't fancy shot blasting this part

Theres a chemical bath thing at our place but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called

I shall look tomorow if you haven't found out by then

i cleaned the front forks on my bike today with a degreaser and wire wool, didnt scratch or anything, didnt scratch the crome stanchion either

Use TFR. Otherwise known as Traffic Film remover. It works very well indeed.

Failing that, i use carb cleaner on most things alloy and that works well too with a brass brush.

This is really ground in thinners won't touch it shot blasted the other parts of the intake came up like new,just don't what to do the T/body due to poss damage to machined surfaces

well it got all the oil (leaky fork seal) and brake dust off a treat, stings if you get it in a cut tho

i personally prolly wouldnt use it on the inside of a tb tho

Cheers Dan open to all suggestions

Just cleaned all the oil out the intake and cooler after my Turbo let go,just wanted it spotless prior to refitting (saff cos )

if its only oil film then stavros had some good shit he got from halfords, spray it on, it foams up like a cunt, then you just wipe it off and all grease/oil is gone!

he used it on his rear diff before it got welded
