Goodyear Eagle F1's NOW BEING MADE IN CHINA !!!
Phoned my local tyre garage late last week to order two Eagle F1's, so be told ''they don't do them anymore'' !!!
He then tells me that he can get a ''GS-D3''............... great I think that IS an Eagle F1.............. I must of got the monkey boy on the blower
Just searching around this afternoon on the net on various forums and it seems that Goodyear are now producing their Eagle F1's/ GS/D3's in China ?
Read various posts about people getting them changed free of charge and threathening to sue tyre garages etc
Anyone had any experience or know anymore on this ?

GSD3 is EAGLE F1 GSD3!!
They are made in Germany and China, some were not intended for the UK/EU market and do not have the correct approval stampos because they were brought in by tyre whole salers, by backdoor methods to save cost.
They are ILLEGAL to use on our roads, but just as safe as undergo same testing.

Testing the future
i have a lot of experience with chinese made vehicles and parts, and in particular a negative experience of a certain brand of tyre (not goodyear)
who says that they are made of the same materials and to the same standards? do not assume that, as in my experience it is not true
if they are capable of being e-marked, whay aren't they?
personally, knowing what i know, i would stay clear.

they will have a E mark on them so that you can proove they were made for the european market
if they don't have the E mark on them they are bent, not neccesarily unsuitable for the roads over hear, just the same as the grey import market from the far east isn't really illegal over here, just the import quota's and stuff like that
there was a thread about it a while ago listing what was what and the letters that were sent out etc

"E" marking a bit of another step to keep numbers down and prices up for TREASURE ISLAND(UK) IMO.
After having used F1 GSD3 I never would again buy them, but would EAGLE VENTURA, but they don't make these now!!
Give me GOODYEAR SUPRCUP anyday, or YOKI A008.

I always been convinced about how good F1's have been on my RST over the years, and had them on my ST170 and on the missus's Zetec-S. But the last set (3-4 months ago) of F1's on the Zetec-s have been really poor. Can see the rubber moldings stuck to the sides of the tyres, and we had to send one back because of a split in the sidewall which looked like a manafacturing problem.
The garage we bought the tyres from gave us a new F1 for free in exachange for the faulty F1 tyre BEFORE it had been inspected by Goodyear! It Says to me the tyre garage know they getting fault tyres from goodyear and not even getting the warrentys challenged if they find one.
Yokohama Parada's for me from now on
