Default 071C's and Cossies

Hi Guys,

Well after 9 months of TLC the Sapphy is now ready for the road....well, nearly anyway - it's MOT is on Monday which I'm hoping it'll fly through now. So - when the MOT is done I'm gonna give it a service and then we're ready to roll, REALLY can't wait I'll tell ya!
Spark plugs, now atm it's got 57C's in. I've used these before in the past but is was a long time ago and I used to find they lasted 2k miles and then were choked up to hell and needed swapping again. A few mates have mentioned 071C's might be worth putting in but thought I'd see what you guys thoughts were?
The car is 400hp on greys running circa 30psi.

Open to suggestions!

Thanks guys, seems like a bit of a mixed bag! So long as it doesn't melt the tips off or anything I'll give them a try.
Appreciate it!

as said above, they dont last forever, but for what they cost you can afford to replace them every week

run them in saph and escort with no problems.

...iridiums are best..BUT be warned they are not meant to be adjusted...but you need to do it for cossie application..this has been known to cause the end to fall off!

Looks like they got here this morning, recorded delivery - when I wasn't in! Doh! I only went out for 10 minutes as well, typical eh!
I'll be off to fetch them later, looking forward to giving them a try....

Just a little bit of advice with the 071s - occasionally you can get a duff brand new one and also the screw on caps have to be done up with a spanner on the plug and a set of mole grips. If you fail to do this, they come undone from the vibration and cause misfires.

I have used these in my Cossie for the last four years and replace them every 3-4000 miles.

i had champions, and they ran like SHITE on my car. Didnt like them at all.

Put some 071's in, and they were spot on, until the end fell off and killed my engine.

Dunno if it was the plugs fault or not, but i was gunning it at full throttle.

I have been told a few times that 071's are not the best to use on high boost cossies, as they were a plug designed for 150hp RS turbo's, not 300hp cossies. Dunno if thats true or not, but they do run well.

Absolute Bollox mate. We run more 500+ YB's on these plugs than you have fingers mate and have NEVER lost a tip.

Boxxer, thats poo mate, I run them on my 600bhp car. They were supplied by the Stu at MSD at an UNBEATABLE price

Great plugs. I had no end of problems with Champions... one 3rd gear misfire caused Ł2,000 worth of gearbox damage... AND more importantly caused me to miss driving at TRAX.... AGAIN! that was pretty fucking unfunny let me tell you!!!!
