Default VOSA and CAR TAX HELP

I have a VOSA inspector turning to my house in the morning to inspect the car so i can get my private plate off and they can assign another age related reg onto it.

But the prospective new owner has asked me to tax the car aswell but i do not have the logbook or mot as this is with the inspector. I do have the lil slip that you get through the post that i had sorned.

The MOT runs out on 22nd. Will I be able to tax it in time or not.

HELP!

You need the MOT to tax it, so its a no go for taxing it unless the Inspector brings it with him and lets you run up the post office with it rapido. Ply them with hot drinks and be nice, but bearing in mind inspecting the car takes all of 5 minutes ....

you can tax it with the slip, but you need the mot....

I dont think you can do it online unless you have a number off the logbook.

Do you know when you will get the logbook back?

Your right, you are covered but persuading the post office you have an mot without producing it will be a task on its own

Failing that ask Mr Vosa if you can meet them at their VRO and get it taxed there, worth a go ....

think you'll find the car has to have longer than 10 days mot left for a new tax disc to be issued!

i doubt i will get the docs back straight away as they will have to issue a new reg and then update the docs.

Oh well i guess the new owner will have to sort it out himself - serves him right for messing me around in the first place
