Hotels/Accomodation near Knockhill
My girlfriend and I are planning on going up to Knockhill soon for my Single Seater experience that she bought me for xmas. We're thinking of going up the night before (a Sunday) so we don't have to be in such a rush the next morning to get there by 9.30, which would be the case if we were travelling from Glasgow.
Any suggestions on where is nice to stay? Doesn't have to be right next to KH, but within 20miles or so. Looking for something with a bit of class but not the 5star treatment and the huge bill which goes with it.
Had a look on the KH website and a few of the hotels they recommend, but wondering if theres anyone on here who can suggest a good one.
Cheers

got into knockhill for the touringcars two or three years back for 8 for the price of three!
three of us in the front of a motorhome and 5 in the back, guy taking the cash at the gate just asked if anyone was in the back ,i said nope only a dog and he just took my word for it!! result
funny thing is it was only when we got parked up that i remembered that there are no dogs allowed on site at khill and the guy didnt even say anything

Cheers for the replies guys - had to scroll down a fair bit with all your spamming PMSL though
Anyway - reason we plan to stay over is that i've to be up there for half 9 at the latest. Ideally i'd be wanting to leave plenty of time to be there for 9 (incase of any mis-haps/hold ups on the way), but i have to commute for a good 40-60mins in the morning rush hour to get onto the motorway in the first place. Oh and im lucky to get to 70mph on most roads in my 1.1
Whats the place you suggested like Euan, any websites for it?

The Gart is just along the road from me - it's changed hands since Swallow went bust, but it's only 7 minutes from the track.
There's a Travelodge at Kinross Moto services, that would be 10-15 minutes away, and another couple of minutes sees you in Kinross with The Green Hotel or The Windlestrae available.
The Holiday Inn Express at Halbeath in Dunfermline is also about 10-15 minutes away, as are loads of Dunfermline hotels if you fancied a bit of nightlife or choice of places to eat/drink on the evening.
Don't know the rates, but expect the Green/Windlestrae to be Ł100+, and the Gart, HIE and TL maybe Ł75-Ł85?

My girlfriend works evenings too - so she ain't an early riser, hence why its very unlikely she'd get up at 7am that mornig.
