gudgeon pin clip isnt retainted properly, its probably been hammered out by sideways moment exerted on it by the littled end of the rod.

it wasnt excessively knocking, just like constant piston slap

Little ends go regularly but it`s usually the bush in the rod...

Mine has a top end rattle when picking up the revs at the moment and I haven't been able to find out what is causing it. It's noisy from cold and nearly goes away when warm.

Well, its either that or the rod is bent and has driven it through, cant really tell from those pictures, I think you might be onto something though.

From: Macclesfield - you'll never leave....!
the skirts look warn and are quite badly scored - caused by excessive bore wear...?
