Greenlight Insurance (no Cover)
Just phoned Greenlight as i last year when i called they were way of the mark with my insurance quote
Toni told me to call again renewal time
Just called again, it took just 1min 30 sec to say they couldnt insure me.
The reason ben that my current insurance mirrors my NCB from my daily driver (6 years NCB), the criteria from Greenlight is you must have 1 year on the car you want to insure, therefore they cant insure me
I hate Insurance, its always a fooking mission to sort out

I thought you needed to have 4 or more years NCB to go with Greenlight?
I ran a couple of quotes on the Saph just out of interest this week and they all came up at least £150 MORE than i'm paying now and i've got another years NCB!
Fucking pisses me off too Jase and I have to work with the cunts (insurance companies) everyday!

Morning Jase,
Many thanks for trying us again..
I'd like to look into this if it's ok with you, especially as you tried us last year as well.
You mentioned that you tried us last year and ended up having the 2nd car covered under a mirrored bonus elsewhere.
Just quickly, if this policy is due for renewal now, would you not have 1 years NCB on this car now (ie. 65% mirrored percentage but 1 year NCB)?
If the policy was mirrored, but you're stopping part way through if it's ran for a while and we can prove what's on the first car (ie max ncb) we may still be able to assist you - and i'd like to try.
So, if you would be so kind as to humour me by putting your details onto our website (assuming you havent already) at www.greenlightinsurance.com I can look at this for you with a view to re-referral to Underwriters.
Once done, can you PM me details as to the situation in reply to the details requested above - then I can get on the case.
Kind regards & thanks again
Tony

GREENLIGHT= NOT GOOD IMO
Started at £257 ended at over £400 after only three years of no claims (i've have full on another car!!!!)
Insurance is a total RIP OFF my mate went to a specialist for an EVO and they would not even quote there best price UNTILL he had another figure so the could beat it
I have found Adrian Flux are very good imo for modded cars
I understand these companys need to make money BUT why fleece you if you have NO CLAIMS you would expect a small increase due to TAX but thats about it surely
Good luck mate in finding the right quote

Dan,
Just to clarify, you only need 1 or more's years NCB for our Underwriters and we can help.
Different risk profiles push the buttons of our Underwriters and premiums are generated based upon their experience with similar factors within a profile (ie. Age, vehicle, postcode, NCB, license).
We DO NOT stay in business by NOT Insuring people and will always try to help, which I was going to suggest in this case.
But on the basis of you view of Insurers at large i'm not sure whether it's worth doing so
Kind regards
Tony

The things that they get away with through plain and simple lies and deceit is disgusting, and who has to take the shit at the end of the day? Us, the lowly broker that gets pushed aside everytime!
However, if your criteria is that you only need 1 years bonus to be considered then I will more than happily give you the opportunity to quote on the Cossie at renewal which is about November this year IIRC, another avenue to try is always good even if it's just for comparison
Thank you for confirming that

Agreed, Pricematch isnt the way to go but unfortunately our industry has a habit of throwing the underwriting guide out the window and doing this, when they should just offer the best they can from the off.
Some of the Underwriters that we deal with do match rates where they are there abouts, but they do require written proof of the quotation (inc. premium, terms, cover) for due diligence and in the main they tend to walk away. Basically, If we're £300.00 out for your circumstances we will be unable to help.
Benefits can be stripped out to reduce premiums and taking a higher excess also helps, but for the record, we DO NOT play tennis and will not keep matching lower rates from "pinocchio" at "Thin Air Insurance Ltd".
Kind regards

Tony, Barry and Greenlight have been legends with me during my time with them, a level of personal service you just dont get elsewhere. Recommended.
I cant believe Tony is so helpful on here still despite the bad language and lack of respect, I guess its his business tho and he has to bite his tongue but i'd find it very hard to be so polite in such circumstances.
They will get my business again if they come up with a decent quote

Dan,
I'll do my best to help you in November.
These companies that are dishonestly trading or acting sharply should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and there are standards within our industry - which is heavily regulated.
They need to be driven from our Industry and if you'd care to either name and shame, or PM me the details I can tell you where & how to go to annonymously sort the sharks that have given such a jaded slant to our Industry out.
Kindest regards

Goto big up Tony too after my not so happy run in with greenlight.
Even though my business with greenlight had come to an end, Tony has still gone out of his way to sort me out and settle thing.
Most companies wouldn't even bother going to the lengths Tony has, for essentially someone who isn't a customer of Greenlight

As for the companies trading in this manner it's not other small highstreet brokers, these are big names that everyone knows, I would say that should they be reported to the FSA for any reason then more than likely things will go pear-shaped for the smaller firm, again the broker
I will PM you as it's good to get another person's point of view!

Jonzy,
If i'd been here rather than on paternity leave for 2 weeks recently we could have probably done more & i'll definitely look out for you next time round to ensure we do.
I'm a bit fractious through broken sleep at the moment and apologise if I seem to the point, which is due to being fuelled by caffine at the moment

I found a personal service with greenlight like no other insurer and a very competitive price, especially as it's over here in N Ireland. However, i'll reserve further judgement for getting a quote to move my car to stage 3+ etc, i'm hoping they may still be competitive

i carnt fault them been with them for 3-4 years now, always gave me a good quote and always very helpful on the phone
plus no waiting on the phone usually straight in to talk to one of the guys

when it was renewal time with my ins co, they said x amount
i said i will try elsewhere...
couldnt get cheaper so i phoned back and spoke to a different person..
they said 300 quid more....
but they had quoted me 300 quid less...an hour ago
i spoke to a manager, and he said...
"we had to check that it was you, to make sure we gave the best price"
my fucking arse...more like
"the bint you just spoke to couldnt be arsed to check the system, so gave another quote....this turned out to be 300 more, and she assumed you d be ok with that, having not spoken to you earlier..... and i just made up some bollox to cover up her fuck up"
i fooked them off for that and got a trders instead....which i actually needed, although its dearer...
theyre all a bunch of robbing cunts, and prey on the stupid and people who are too lazy to try elsewhere
maybe harsh with tony but then my experiences with greenlight have been worse than good...and no tony, i cant be arsed to keep going through this as grrenlight are never able to help....no matter how many imes i try...
but thanks for trying anyway...

GB,
Is the first part of your post about Greenlight, or just your experience with the industry in general?
Reason for asking is that we dont have any female staff, so you would have struggled to speak to a 'bint' as you call it here.
It's a pride swallowing siege trading within an industry that has generated such a bad image through the manner that it trades at large.
If you'd care to elaborate upon what was worse than good, PM me your name/postcode along with the phone numbers you called from and I can review every call that you have made with us - then i'll be in a better position to comment.
We are never going to be all things to all men, but I can assure you that we will do all we can within the parameters we have to work with and that we do always aim to do our best for our client.
Kind regards
Tony

Ok Carl,
Contender ready...
If it's a private car policy pop your details onto www.greenlightinsurance.com when you get 5 mins and i'll see what we can do.
We are UK based and deal solely with specialist vehicle Insurers that operate UK call centres.
Policy cover under our available schemes is good and in addition we offer Like for like replacement of modified parts, along with a track/airfield cover option.
Norwich Union were one of the first Insurers to 'offshore' their call centres, which hasnt been popular - but has allowed them to make what they call 'efficiency' savings.
With the level of public backlash to these call centres in general (not just insurance sector) you'll probably find that most will be moving back here sooner rather than later.
Anyway, back to your requirement - i'd be happy to try and help..
Kindest regards

How long do you take to reply to a online quote?
I filled one in last week and still haven't had a reply.....infact the same thing happened the year before.so i went elsewhere....i guess you don't want to insure someone thats never had a crash in15 yearsand has a full NCB's

I spent 10 minutes on the phone to Norwich Union last year, only for the sales representative to tell me after filling in an exhaustive 'form', that she couldn't offer me a quote.
Why? The Sierra Cosworth is blacklisted by Norwich Union and they wouldn't offer a quote to anyone for one....great...
Couldn't have just asked what car it was first could she...no, they need marketing information first. Beware!!!

Hi Guys,
If you have a hotmail address you will need to add Greenlight.com to your safe list as we have experienced problems with this.
We have jumped through the hoops stipulated by Microsoft 3 times, but this is still only apparently 25% effective
In the event that you havent had a reply within 24 hrs, please call our office and we can either re-send to a different address while you are on or run through the details via the telephone.
We NEVER fail to respond to quote requests, so if you havent heard don't be shy to ask.
Robski, if you can PM me your actual name & address i'll check and PM you back.
Indy,
Cozmeister, its been 3 years since we ceased dealing with NU (when they went overseas) but I didnt realise that Norwich Union had stopped covering Cossies.

To be fair, Greenlight were by far the cheapest Insurer for my Escort cossie last year, It was my first year of owning it, and although I have 7 years+ NCB, a clean licence, and a decent postcode and was 25 at the time, everywhere else was well over £1000 .... Greelight did the policy for £797 fully comp with a sensible excess - Has to be said the customer service and telephone answering times were top notch as well, and mods were not a problem - hopefully will be re-insuring with them this year , although the car is about to undergo a HUGE mod programme
My major gripe at the insurance industry in general is this bollocks about not being able to use your NCB on more than one car at a time , in my eyes it is purley set up to fleece more ££££ out of you, I have bought myself a £130 1.0 fiesta on a G reg for a cheap runabout, and greenlight wanted £360 for a years cover TPFT for fucks sake , my £14,000 Escort cossie is "only" £800 a year

Sorry will,
We can mirror NCB with some Underwriters but our rates are aimed solely for performance/modified cars and arent exactly 'cutting edge' for basic run arounds .

I'll be giving you guys a call tomorrow, I bet you can beat Direct line's renewal quote (which is strangely £200 more than a quote on their website )

greenlight insured my sierra
they were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and i would love to do business with them again. i'd happily pay MORE money to be covered by greenlight than most of their competitors, as the service was second to none. however i'm sure that wouldnt happen, as their quotes were the best i had!
i just wish they'd cover e36 m3s
tony, i havea big pile of money here... PLEEEESE cover me
can we say it's a 318is thats been modded to m3 spec?
