Graham Poll is taking early retirment... because of all the abuse he gets

GRAHAM POLL has dramatically decided to quit refereeing.
His last game will be Portsmouth's Premiership clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
Poll will end his career early after becoming fed up with the abuse that goes with being the most controversial and high-profile official in English football.
The 43-year-old was publicly ridiculed for his World Cup blunder last summer when he showed three yellow cards to Croatia's Josip Simunic.

I guess its easy to slag off something you've never tried though. I'll bet you couldnt ref a 10 years olds sunday league game without making shit decisions that you'd cringe at if you saw Poll making them in a big game. Nobody denies they get things wrong, but they get very little help. Rugby refs are miked up, with tv replays and good assistants who make good calls for them, footy refs are much more isolated. They piss me right off sometimes but you have to understand they are only human and the system they are in wont allow them the tools to be more accurate than they are.

The problem with Graham Poll is that he always hands out too many yellow cards. I think he modelled himself on Pierre luigi but just didn't have the control. Maybe the stats will say otherwise but whenever i see poll he always gives out minimum of 5 cards. Yellow carding the same player about 3 times at the world cup. Thats a pretty big mistake.
Howard webb is the best ref around at the moment. Anyway i don't care because....

Poll is the most hated referee because of his narcissistic approach of wanting to be noticed.
A good referee is one who refs quietly, discreetly, fairly and then goes home and shuts up. That's what is wanted from a ref. Not some pouting primadonna trying to be MoM.

to be honest smit you probably couldnt pick a "best referee" as they all make silly decisions. just some (like poll) more than others.
and they never wanna make the game run smoothly. end of the day its a mans game. theres gonna be a few 50/50's and the referee's should use common sense and not produce a yellow card on every shoulder charge etc... makes the game shit imo.
i think new techonology should be used tho. as in rugby and cricket you got the video ref. also i would have a sin bin, 2 yellow's and you go in for 20 minutes and if you come back on and get booked again your off. and maybe a 10 min sin bin for "descent"

Can't stand listening to either Gray or Tyler..... they aren't 'commentators', they get right on my tits talking to each other through the game.
All Tyler does is quote stats right down to who a players fuckin' granny is.
All Gray does is try to analyse every pass trying to impress people that he is knowledgable.
Right pair of cocks IMO.
