Replica, surely?

Look at the gay wheel width/offset, can tell its a UK modified road car from that alone.

Looks like the same one Andy Drove at Nat Day 05 but with different wheels

Ah, guess it is real, just the rims on it (which look like the aussie GrpA ones, but skinnier) that made it look a rep

Hi Stavros, I have known the car for a couple of years and it is the real deal, pole position at Bathurst in '89 I think.
The wheel width was due to race regulations, 235/240 17" were the limit then.

why was it disqualified?
If i remember right they had the fire extinguisher nozzle aimed at the intercooler and there were reports that they had a secret co2 bottle spraying on to the intercooler lowering the ACT's hence giving more power where needed mainly on the straights
the official disqualification was for illegal rear arch mods, although during the race there were claims of illegal fuel being found in the Eggenberger vent bottles during live tv by then pit reporter neil crompton.

the back story to the 87 wtcc is hugely political, but put simply its alleged that during the season bmw and ford came to a deal, that bmw would win the drivers championship (roberto ravaglia) and ford would win the constructors (which they did). everyone played along with this as it was the first year of a big very expensive new championship following the always controversial etcc. this including turning a blind eye to certain things.... just a shame cams (aussie ruling body) either weren't told or were temporally deaf

the aussies didn't really like the europeans coming over and dominating their big race, and demanding a change to the track (the chase). so what better than having their home-grown hero (brock), in a home-grown car( holden) win there big home race, and beat the worlds best... although not in the car he started in. the old cross entering rule.

this race is also why johnson came over for the 88tt, because he wanted revenge on the europeans for blowing them away on the mountain.

Excuse me but wasn't it the #6 car who won Bathurst in 1987?

btw, can you upload some of the Datapost RS1600i pics?

Genuine, ex BBT RS500 cars, because they are motorsport shell's from the factory,so left the factory with out numbers in the shells, so if someone wanted to stamp the shell, only DOWN, NOT BOTH WAYS, L.O.L manufactuing one way only.
No numbers on motorstort shells OR (replacement shell's)
UPON GENUINE ROAD RS500 CARS.
(i thought i'd give some advice )
