Look at the gay wheel width/offset, can tell its a UK modified road car from that alone.

Hi Stavros, I have known the car for a couple of years and it is the real deal, pole position at Bathurst in '89 I think.
The wheel width was due to race regulations, 235/240 17" were the limit then.

the back story to the 87 wtcc is hugely political, but put simply its alleged that during the season bmw and ford came to a deal, that bmw would win the drivers championship (roberto ravaglia) and ford would win the constructors (which they did). everyone played along with this as it was the first year of a big very expensive new championship following the always controversial etcc. this including turning a blind eye to certain things.... just a shame cams (aussie ruling body) either weren't told or were temporally deaf
the aussies didn't really like the europeans coming over and dominating their big race, and demanding a change to the track (the chase). so what better than having their home-grown hero (brock), in a home-grown car( holden) win there big home race, and beat the worlds best... although not in the car he started in.
the old cross entering rule. this race is also why johnson came over for the 88tt, because he wanted revenge on the europeans for blowing them away on the mountain.

I have been seriously thinking over the last 12 months of buying one
I just wondered if anyone knows where to find such a thing ,,ie websites etc
I know Martin johnson has 3 for sale but they are a little above my budget so just thought it was worth a try to try to find one that needs a resto etc a little cheaper
I know they dont turn up oftern but worth a post on here
