If anyone can remember the website with the pre-written letters on, to send to your bank to get bank charges back, could they post it on here.

Can someone just quickly explain how you find out the chargeds and which are applicable. I've had a quick look but dont really see it. Basicly, do you just go through old bank records and list the date of the charge and the amount?
Basicly my parents have said that if i do it for them they will give me 10% of the reclaimed moneys, which considering they go overdrawn about 10 times a month, could be alot of money.
Cheers for help peeps, wanting some new bits for my car, lol!

how much did you persue them for? and did they contest the ammount down in court? as I have asked for 5k knowing full well its a bit high
Im banking on the fact that even if they do contest it in court they are still going to have to give me what im owed....lol so wortha try![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Im just wondering, people who have gone through this, how have the banks been with you afterwads? My parents have quite significant loans at times through two different banks with 3 accounts with each (different companies and private accounts), so basicly, if the bank closes their account theyd be stuffed. So, how were you treated afterwards?

i went after thenm for 3900 and i got 3900
if ya keep your claim under 5k even if its 4999 it will only go to the small claims court. and the banks arnt interested in trying to defend. as to them its a drop in the ocean.
but if you want more then do it in two seperate claims.
if you end up going to the normal courts the bank will defend as it well publicised and the flood gates could open. and remember they can afford a better lawyer then you!
i say go for . and dont accept any less than the full amount , they will pay up.
even if its your fault that you went overdrawn.
it all boils down to the fact that they have to prove to you its cost them 38 quid or what ever the charge was for you to go overdrawn. and they cant as we all know it didnt cost them that much . it was estimated that some of the big banks made up to 3 million quid last year on bank charges alone! so 5k is nothing .
the whole process from start to finish will take around 3months , if it goes the full distance
any one wants any advice just pm me , anything to help a ford owner out!

Letters sorted me out a treat. Got a letter from Barclays on Saturday telling me their charges were completely above board and they completely deny my accusation they are unjust and illegal. But then in the same letter they say they will offer me a £1300 payment as a gesture of goodwill. I've accepted as it was money I wasn't even expecting and I don't see the point in upsetting them so they close the account.
to whoever posted about this first
