S13s are...
Front Track 1465mm
Rear Track 1460mm
Sierra Cossies are (i think)...
Front track: 1455 mm
Rear Track: 1472 mm
for what reason mate?
unlike cossies though, S13s when modded usually end up with massivley wider track due to longer bottom arms from S14s, adjustable top mounts, loads wider and lower offset wheels, etc etc etc.

se7ens are conventionally made from shitty live axle cars, or sierra IRS (which isnt perfect either)
Soooo, if you took the running gear from an s13 200sx......

Aah, good point, will be a massive improvment.
S14 stuff is slightly better tho on the rear for traction, S13 has a solid diff mount which is better, but either is cheap as.
Either one though, you can get rose jointed adjustable arms for front and rear castor/camber/toe for a few hundred quid the whole set

Cant remember by how much wider, but not much.
Advantage is the geometry helps traction on the rear, helps the rear tyres dig in, no idea how mind.
Surely you just need the basic rear beam and your buying aftermarket arms anyhow, so dont need a whole car.
Or you going to base the whole lot on a S-body?
Makes sense i spose, but almost everything on an S13 would want uprating be be that good, at least S14s come with 4pots etc as standard.
Tho whatever how how much ever you choose to get, parts between the models are interchangable (and most skyline brakes and susp too) and cheap, so easy either way.

Knowing alistair's financial situation which is:
SCOTTISH
The main driving factor here is going to be making "an ok car for very little money" as opposed to wanting to build perfection for a big budget.
So standard S13 stuff is probably ideal initially and maybe a few cheap upgrades later on, but he wont want to spend out massively I can guarentee it!
