cobra, sparco, mono, omp, etc etc etc, all make similar type of seats.

i take it you mean the big winged ones. bit gay i reckon, cant see shit apart from forwards either.

cobra suzuka and sparco evo are my personal faves for a proper bucket.

Tell me about it - i reversed a rally car into some guys mint 3dr last year He drove up behind me really quick in the paddock, and as i was strapped in i couldn't see shit and assumed it was still clear.

A proper seat is awesome on track though - i think the big wings are for neck protection a bit like the head rest for side loadings.

I was amazed at how well std RST recaros were on track, they did their job damn well for a road seat. For a track day, add a harnesss and i think you'd be sorted. Cheap bucket's are worse than a good road seat i think.

I dont understand how people, unless they REALLY fat, need/want a big wide seat.

Maybe I dont have the most child bearing hips, but the seat I got in my Silvia is fucking tiny (some tiny kevlar corbeau sprint thing), but thats perfect, the seats are meant to hold you in place totally, nowt else.

Fudgeys got them fat fucker seats in the FF Sierra drift shitter and they useless, so wide they do fuck all for holding you in, may as well not have em IMO.

If a buckets doing its job properly, you will have no need for the harness to hold you in.

steve its more about people with back problems,,,, drive for a few hours in a tight seat thats wedging you hips and you cant adjust your arse proper means if like me you got bad back issues you then cant get out the thing,,,, thats where the roll caged gets used i guess

i went out with a guy at the ring who have a track preped m3 and they seats where pukka and i found i could rest my head on the side sections on bends as a passenger

they also look "cool"

I find the smaller seats compress my shoulders inwards up at the top which forces your upper body and back away from the seat back. Thats not good and not safe. It makes driving and steering difficult, remember its not just what your sat on that is altered in the seat size, but the whole dimentions.
