Help required. Hope somebody can help me quickly...
I am trying to do some form of database to list my products in.
It needs a few titles such as:
Item cost
Item sale price
Paypal Fee
Profit.
Etc Etc...
And then ideally the ability to list each product alphabetically or via the column of my choice, such as "Profit"
I am sure this is reasonably easy to do, but sadly, i lack teh skills. Can anyone help me out?

I would do this using microsoft Access. Put all your products in a table and then you could create reports or queries to pick out any info you want.
If you wanted to be even cleverer you could create VB program to link with the database and hold customer info , product info, supplier info etc.
Then you could know who has bought what at a touch of button. See how much you owe suppliers, if you put invoices through system . It could also be setup to print invoices, print on cheques to pay suppliers. Basically could be tailored to do whatevev you wanted.

Testing the future
easiest for you to start with would be a spreadsheet in excel i suspect as you probably have that but maybe not other db software
in excel, once you've filled your columns all you have to do is Data > Sort and then choose which column you want to sort by
i think it really is that simple, but maybe i'm misssing something?
EDIT: you can always export to Access or other later on

The great thing about using Access rather than excel is its much more powerfull and can be added to easily to hold customer info , supplier info etc.
Although saying that , if you dont want to build on this in future then excel will be the easier option to do what you want now with least hassel.

If you want me to knock up a quick database for you to have a play with i can, as it will only take me a few mins.
Will need to know exactly what fields you want in the products table and what sort of calculations if any you want to do on any of the fields.
Will also need to know if your running Access 97 (yellow key) or a later version as they arnt totally compatible.
