Ford didnt own cosworth when they built the 3dr, saffs or escos so this would not stop a Focus Cosworth being built if another company owned it, that is unless it goes to another manufacturer which could put the blockers on it.

Cosworth racing is up for sale. The removal of the Cosworht decal on the current WRC and the total lacking of any mention of it in Autocar whilst the Focus RS mk2 is being described only go to further confirm it'll not be made.
I run www.focuscosworth.co.uk so you can imagine how gutted I am about this.

This is why Malcolm Wilson returned home from Japan early in order to negociate a deal with Ford for next years WRC.
On a separate note, didn't Cosworth split before into Cosworth Technology or sumfin and Cosworth Racing. This won't be the end of Cosworth as if my memory serves me correctly, Cosworth Racing is now an idependant company, however im unsure of the future Ford will have with Cosworth and therefore the future of the Focus Cosworth, but TBH was it ever going to arrive?!

As for someone saying WTF is Ford up to? Well theyve been in shit street since the Bridgestone tyre thing, and as a company arent making very much profit.

There have been no Ford job losses and neither will there be - this all applies to Jaguar plants at Coventry. However, there are NO compulsory job losses there either, there will be early retirements offered, and the rest will more than likely transfer to the other plant a mere 16 miles away. This has been necessary for years as Jag have always had too many plants ever since Ford took over. The plant will become a museum.
As for a Focus Cosworth - i've hinted for a long time on various other boards that any Focus Cossie may wear a different badge. Ford and Cossie bosses haven't got on for years, so a Focus wearing a cossie badge was unlikely - that doesn't mean the car won't happen, it just means the badge could be different

Jag has had problems with that for a long time - yes that hasn't helped the plants case, but doesn't change the fact that it needed to go - profit or no profit.
Jag's main problem is due to the $/Ł exchange rate, as it's effecting the other premium European brands that rely on the US for a large portion of sales.

well i must say I am absolutely gutted by the decision to pull Jaguar out of F1. I supported them from day one (cant be accused of glory hunting) and this is the first I have heard of this, even tho I am subscribed to their F1 forum.
I guess this must be the fact that next year they are going into the BTCC instead, which is some consilation for us Jag supporters.
Whilst Jag aint performing that well, lets all just remeber they was an ENGLISH firm bought by the USA....................

I work for Jaguar Racing and was told this morning that the aim is to find a buyer who wants BOTH Jaguar Racing and Cosworth as a package. It has become apparent that Jaguar cars neither has had or would ever have the funds to put Jaguar racing on the podium Cosworth has suffered years of underfunding from Ford and it is also clear that Ford have no intention of rebranding the Team as FORD as they feel they have sufficient global awareness as it is !
In answer to the earlier post that Jaguar racing are "SHIT" i would say that if you knew the facts ,i.e what has been achieved especially in the last couple of years and with such a small budget you might not have made such a ill advised remark.
