Escort Cosworth - Seller to avoid!
Im currently looking for an Escort and sent this seller an email:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/155330.htm
"Id be interested if you re-consider you price, might have got £16k a
few years ago, but in todays market its only worth about £12k if it all
checks out"
Now, it might be a bit cheeky but i genuinely dont think that car is worth £16k so made an offer. I could afford £16k, but would only spend that if the car was very very special.
The reply:
"i tell you what why dont you go and f*** yourself you f***ing retard and go buy something you can afford these cars are worth every penny and if you look at millage you will see all with low millage demand these prices now f*** off and die!"
Maybe a seller to avoid!

Harsh reply, but made me laugh.
Best offer I had was on ebay, £1k (yes £1k) for my car which was up for £11000. Tracked him down and asked what he was playing at and he said "you might have been desperate"

he probably got about ten emails saying something similar that day.
its the same when anyone is selling any cossie, there are TONS of tyre kickers and time wasters.
Not saying you one of those mate but you see my point.

well to be fair theres traders on here that would do EXACTLY the same thing !!!!
good on you for trying though,,,, but offering 2 3rds the price of a car is insulting,,,,, well considering the car is worth around the price hes asking
as for why people pay that for escos's i DONT know but they are selling for that

Haha, well maybe it was a bit cheeky, but it hasnt shifted in a while, so why not! Still i thought it was a harsh reply!
Im still not convinced it's worth that, like i say, maybe a few years ago but the market seems to have dropped a bit recently!

the only thing i have noticed with escort cossie prices is that there appear to be more ropey examples around in the 10-12K bracket. If that car is what it appears then its 16K all day long.

and with the low mileage in a very desirable colour its going to achieve a good price IMO.
Cant understand why you would think its a seller to avoid just because of his reply email, id have said something pretty similar myself to you.

Simple "No thanks" would've done!

Is this a wind up or what?
How the hell do you know its not worth £16k without even going to see it? And where on earth do you get the idea that prices are going down? If its a good car, its worth that all day long to the right buyer.
Full credit for trying but i think most people who know what their talking about and understand what their looking at would have given you a similar reply, me included.
If you really are a genuine buyer and not a messer, (and no offence but it does seem that you ''may'' be by your posts) then you should understand that you wont get a decent 30,000 mile escos for £12k. If your really not on the wind up, then your in for a big shock mate.

No i havent, i think this has strayed off the point, im not bothered that he wasnt interested in my offer, i just thought his reply was a bit abusive!
I might have gone back with a higher offer, but i definitely wont now!
