When he's still got the car for sale in a couple months time contact him again from a different email address, don't mention price.
Then go and see it with the dough in your pocket, without upsetting him
offer him the 12 and let him see you have it on you, when/if he turns you down leave your phone no and walk away
99 times out of a hundred he will call with 2 weeks.
And if he doesn't don't worry 12 grand buys an AWFUL lot of second hand car
at the moment.

Just remember basic economics. Anything is only 'worth' what someone
is prepared to pay.

Its like when i was selling my first focus rs it was up for 13,500-14k i had people ringing up saying it says in parkers its only worth10 so i'll offer u 10. They recieved similar replies to what you got! I sold it in the end in a hurry for just over 13,500 and even then it was one of the cheapest around at spec and mileage.

Because he expected most people to agree with him and have a go at the seller, but instead the vast majority of people that have posted have disagreed with him and some have even given him a bit of a slating. That is how this thread has backfired.

I didn't say it was right for the seller to say what the he said, I was just pointing out that this thread hadn't gone quite as the originator had expected.
