Lol, Will said you may post and twist a few things round.

The car cruises in the 14's up to about 3500-4000, after which it goes into the 13's. Nothing i can do with that seeing as it's still on KE Jetronic and i have no control in that area.

On boost it is a true base map which i have not attempted to tune as i simply have no time, i have not even been in the passenger seat yet. It just enables me to get to Uni, and Manchester city centre doesn't really allow for much on boost driving at 8am....

It was hitting the 8.8 for a split second as the boost came in, going into the high 10's at the current 6k rev limit. Too rich, but fine as a temporary measure seeing as i very rarely take it on boost.

On the way home, Will kindly offered to have a go at trimming some fuel out, this was the first opportunity i had had for any sort of live mapping. Around the boost threshold, we got it into mid 10's, with 11.6 at the limiter in 4th. Much better, but still work needed, although it's given me a nice head start. Despite all this, including loading the car with the brakes on, having no 5th gear - which meant that large amounts of time of the 350 odd miles were spent sitting at well over 5k, i managed to get 28mpg!!!

I will let Will post his thoughts, but i am very pleased with the car

Evening all...

First of all - thank you Rick for the lift yesterday - helped me out a lot as i'm not allowed to drive long distance until i get the all clear from the docs after my op...

The 22:1 AFR was a bit tongue in cheek and for the record i only saw it once and got Rick to dive into the services - shortly before the car cut out due to a loose connector onto the ECU.

With that reconnected the car was running massively rich as Rick explained, due to him sticking in some very rough fuel values as his uni work has taken priority recently.

I again, as others have, don't claim to be 'up there' in terms of mapping to the same level as Stu/Karl/Sheady etc. but i like to think i know one end of an AFR gauge from another and based on the very tame ignition advance the car was running - offered to trim some fuelling out on the way home.

As you can appreciate - the M6 on a sunday afternoon is not the ideal place to be doing left foot braking and pulls to the limiter - however - with the short amount of time i had on the laptop we managed to pull the fuelling into the 11s/12s on boost and the car felt a lot stronger. Unsurprisingly

Rick - if you want me to trim a bit more out, bring your laptop to Mascrat on Wednesday and we'll see if another half an hour doesn't help

I Should rephrase that - It was me who thought that there would be some 'banter' - after Will mentioned Dingy may post.

Thanks for the offer Will, Wed nights is probably quite a good time to have a play. I'd like to get the EGT gauges in before we start going hardcore - roll on summer

Jim, it's got another ECU in which runs coilpacks and a 5th inj. Will be on electronic injectors in the next couple of months as time allows.

I wasn't aware i had lied to you mate we DID see 22.0:1 AFR at one point as i explained to you, before the ECU failed due to the loose connector... and we DID see 8.0:1AFR on boost... No bullshit there?

I'm guessing you and rick don't see eye to eye - but without meaning to sound arrogant - i don't know/care why...

I take everyone as i find them and don't judge them by their past unless it has or will directly affect me.

I've not got a problem with you, the few occasions i've chatted to you i've enjoyed...

Please don't sit me in the middle of the crossfire
