My bro worked there for 4 years, said it was so hot you had to dash from air conned buildings into air conned cars, had a tiny little flat and that was £1500 a month, stayed in RAFFLES a lot as well, nice hotel, then at balmoral spring.
They also have skyscrapers(shops) that are built DOWNWARDS under the ground to get away from the heat, neat eh!!
He loved it, and there is supposed to be a MYSTERY CREATURE in the water around the HARBOUR that no ones has managed to capture, similar to loch ness!

Have been into Singapore about 5 times and through the airport another 7, love the place.

My g/f loves the shopping there and it suits me for all the nerdy electronic equipment!

Things to do:

Have a real Singapore Sling at Raffles
Go to the Night Safari, words cannot descirbe seeing rhinos etc with 10 metres of your bus
Ministry of Sound nightclub, newly built about 18months ago
Santosa Island

and........

The Penny Black, English pub for all expats down on the Quay in the city where you can get a pint.

Very very humid and lots of shops don't open until 10-11am but stay open later. Singapore rocks and makes a great stop over.

Amazingly clean as well, no fag butts/rubbish etc that I have ever seen

I live in Auckland mate, which is where the work is for me.
I was brought up (and consider myself from) a place 1 1/2 hours drive North of Auckland called Mangawhai Heads, it's on the East Coast, right on the beach.
Did you make up to the top of the North Island?.

A Jafa then

Cool, not sure where that is, but we went from Auckland up via a fair bit of the east coast, camped at uretiti beach, I dived at the poor knights islands. Kerikeri peninsula was my favourite place

We got right to the top where the two oceans meet at the cape

I spent three weeks there with work a few years ago, nice place but I don't think I could live there. Got the low level tour there one night from some of the guys from the local office, culminating in the infamous Four Floors of Whores Its a small four floor (never...) shopping centre on Orchard Road during the day but at night a night club opens on each floor, each filled with Thai prositutes - it was a serious eye opener I can tell ya.

And no, I didn't.

Well done mate, I see you found the Nudist beach alright then
My partner has a Holiday house on the Kerikeri Penninsula, a beach called Tapuaetahi.
Mangawhai heads is a few bays, south of Uretiti. About 15 minutes drive.
Good to hear you had a good time mate, the old camper van drive is definately the best way to see New Zealand.
