just one minor prob so far....since i've fitted the 1gb memory card, it seems a little slower accessing pictures in the gallery....although i'm not 100% sure if my card is fake or not tbh..so this may or may not be the problem.

I got mine today and so far I love it. I just have to set it up to how I want it, but the camera is fantastic and the speed of accessing menus is how it should be... FAST.

Ok, I have now found some things that I do not like...

I can't seem to move sound clips, like ringtones and text tones out of the saved music folder. There doesn't seem to be a folder for these type of files. I haven't got a memory card yet which is where I will save my music to, so I'll see how it goes once the card arrives.

Anybody else noticed this, or have I missed something?

rite just spoken to o2 on the phone cos i was gonna order one

and she said the map thing is very very expensive as it relies on a GPRS connestion,

one fella paid Ł27 quid for 2 journeys - fuk that

its also based round windowns mobile - which is poo,

the camra is 5mega pixel,
but its only good on ur screen or if your printing the pics out,
they come out fookin huge,
and u can only send a pic through mms thats 0.3meg which is tiny like 15mmx15mm

i currently ave an N80 its the worst phone ive ever owned its slow takes ages to send messages very poor battery life etc

my missus had the n91 same fults but nice lookin phone

I got one free on upgrade last week. Always been with Sony since my last N series disaster lol. Must say i am impressed with the phone.

Think i have the same problem as Tony i down loaded a couple of tunes just testing things out and i can not get them to save as tones etc.

Also the buggerr keeps beeping while i am walking Hope it is not anything dodgy working what should be

I still haven't sussed out how to move the files, I just hope that once a memory card is in there I can arrange it all a bit better, otherwise I don't think the phone will work for me. I can't have my ringtones going off when I'm listening to my music all day.


I just tested a picture from the phone, I'm happy with the quality of it for a camera phone.



Obviously I have had to shink it down to my normal posting size because yes, the pictures are HUGE. And taking pictures of moving targets probably doesn't help, but still.

Have you ever upgraded your software and installed the SMS accelerator software on the phone? If not, I advise you do it. My N80 is mint and I still use it along side the N95.

I'll find the links for the software upgrade. Word of warning though. Follow the instructions to the letter. If you do, no problems. If you don't, you could turn your phone into a brick.

Ive just upgraded to this phone today. Went to cancell but i got a very good deal! Got the phone free, Ł35 a month with 900mins cross network and unlimited texts. Ł5 for unlimited data download afternnons and weekends, (capped at Ł1.50 if using it in the day) and Ł6 insurance. Very very happy, its with orange.

Best deal i could find in the shops was t-mobile with phone Ł60, Ł45 a month for Ł180 of credit, Ł12.50 for 3gig of download a month and something like Ł37 every 3 months for insurance.

My gf has this phone and i have a couple of issues with hers. Firstly, the video is far from dvd quality, we had the settings right up but it didnt look as good as i exspected on her applemac. Secondly, the sound it picks up is crap. Only picks up like the higher frequencies. Basicly I tried driving past her with my stereo blaring, then past again and pulled in right next to her and you couldnt hear any bass and barely any of the music, and i have quite a loud system, so i was well disapointed with that.

The controls for games are waz, the main middle button is difficult for me to press with my chubby fingers, lol! And i keep hitting the buttons next to it. My gf blasmed it on me normaliy having sony erricsons but she tried it and kept hitting wrong buttons too.

Also the fone would, not necesserily freeze, but would take about 5 seconds before accessing menues ect.

Also, as others have said, battery life aint great.

I must admit now after a few days with the phone it isn't all that. Don't get me wrong it pisses over my fault infested 6280 by miles, the menus are fast and so far it has been reliable. The only time I have found something to be slow is when turning on the camera and opeing the media slide but I can live with that.

This is my first N series phone so I didn't know what to expect. My biggest gripe at the moment is that when you go in the gallery there isn't everything in there that is saved on the phone. I want a folder to save my ringtones and text alerts, a seperate music folder and seperate image and video folders so I know where everything is. Also there is a kind of buzzing noise when using the phone facility.

All in all I will keep it but only because my last phone needs shooting. I think if I didn't have this I would have got the 6288 which my brother has and is a much better phone that the 6280

Phone still seems very good...although i did have a slight problem with people not hearing me when they ring? if it continues i'll have it swapped for a new one.

Tony, can't you just move the music files about using the PC Suite??

also i've been having a mess with the camera, if you play with the settings it really is very good i took this pic earlier..not bad for a phone lol

Mines ok, but there are a few annoying things with it. Firstly, the camera keeps locking, requiring the phone to be turned off and on again before it'll work again.

Also, it keeps saying memory full when i try to play the snake game, even though i have a 2gig card and have taken only two pictures and no videos, and have no other applications running.

Ive had it refuse to send text messages a few times with full signal, and it was stopping my gf from phoning me, had to turn off and on again to fix.

Battery is terrible. With moderate usage im recharging it twice a day.

The tv thing is dissapointing, it turns off on anything good, and most of the tv channels are like 5min clips, and you have to go back to the channel listing every 15mins.

I couldnt figure out how to do the radio on the phone, it wouldnt tune

The front camera wont take any pictures

Finding your way around the phone is really difficult

The sound pick-up for the video camera is poor, and the picture quality is far below what i expected for near dvd quality video.
