Default VIC check by VOSA

ive just a letter through from the dvla saying that because the car i recently bought has history of accident damage i have to have a VIC check carried out by vosa before they'll issue me the v5

i know it was stolen a few years back and written off but then it was found and bought back off the insurance company.

have i got anything to worry about?
never had to do this before

a VIC check is just a vehicle id check...as long as you havent used stolen parts and the car isnt a cut and shut ,you will be fine!

its not like a mot

ive had loads done

you can mot it without the V5, you need to get it vic tested first, then mot'd

They mean you can't drive it there without a valid MOT. or insurance.

You can drive to and from a VIC with NO TAX:

so i can mot it, then tax it with the new keeper supplement which you can use normally then get it checked at a later date. that right?

i would have thought if you do that and the plod see you on the road they would rape your arse

the only way you will be sure enough to drive the car is to ring the dvla and ask them
