Does this alter the fuelling throughout the rev range or just on tickover. I assume that it will effect the fuelling throughout but want to double check.

NOT TRUE, mine runs 2.25% CO at idle all day long sweet as a nut, makes very good power for stage one, does 34 mpg on a run.
I have a GGR chip, though they are expensive, there are other ones that are also good.
Although the screw alters the fuelling at idle, the car goes onto a different SPEED + LOAD SITE, when moving, and the effect is negligible, and only there due to interpolation between maps/sites.
The speed load site dictates the mix, with inputs for trimming such as ECT, ACT, and any others, but not idle as it is not at idle.
Any DECENT chip correctly written will walk the MOT regs for emissions.
The lower down lighter load you are the more effect a richer idle will have but it is very very very little in comparison to main load fuelling, thus it will seem smoother when you are just pottering about low down.

..forgot to add you can run under 3.5% if you have a closed loop setup
...collins stage 3 chips (maybe changed now) i was told to run 5% co....the karl norris chip to run 3.5%...its whatever they map it too...or how good the mapper is

Mine was turned right up to 8% and it had only just been setup. Took it to the MoT and they knocked it back due to the emissions. I have now turned it down to 2.5% and the car seems to run so much smoother. It is running a stage 1 chip but couldn't tell you what it is. It being at 8% could this be down to a crap tuner then as everything else is fine i.e. sensors etc.

Its going on the rollers then I guess just to double check everything. Anyone know anywhere near Leeds/Barnsley which can do it other than Well Lane?

there is NO reason for running 8%,, this is illegal,,, and shows a bad tuner! but it might of been the quick fix to trim some fuel into the top end (and everywhere else
)
take it to msd,,, and you will have a legally running cosworth, which will be better on fuel

For anyone that can't read properly, again it has an effect at all speeds, therefore it MUST BE GLOBAL, just has less and less effect the more load is applied, as it's contribution is based on idle fuelling needs, which are insignificant compared to WOT.
Look at how open the throttle is at idle and at full throttle, when it is being asked for max power.
You will see a big difference in opening, now consider the fuel added to the amount of air at idle and at WOT, now imagine as a percentage how much more needs to be added to richen it up at idle, and as a percentage of max power fuel how much this would be, it is insignificant, unless at very low power speeds.
Any chip that requires a or has a co of 8% etc is either a badly adjusted car, it has faults or it is a shite chip of the higherst order.
8% is more than most chokes, and a good way to kill engines.
There is no reason why a road going cos will have any trouble passing the MOT without having to be adjusted DOWN(CO) tpo pass.

you need to consult the person who wrote the map on your chip for the correct idle CO
if they dont know this, then the chip aint worth jack so throw it in the bin cos its probably gonna kill your engine
i run a stage 3 msd closed loop chip and runs 0.5% CO at idle
