Where the hell do i buy a turbo from???
ive phoned the following people, all have had no idea what im on about.
midland turbos
turbo technics
BTN
owen developments.
Am i asking for the wrong thing or something?
i want a T34 .48, and im being asked all these random questions about compressor housings, etc.
What EXACTLY is a T34 made of? some say they can convert my existing T3, others say i need to convert to a escort cosworth manifold.

just ask them what upgraded turbos they sell for the car you want it for, let them tell you what they sell, far easier
id phone universal turbos, never had a problem with them on the phone

i talked to one of the turbo dealers once and he wouldn't have it that a .63 ex housing went on a t34..................i was like "escort cosworth"....

The TURBOCENTRE, ask for ANDY or CRAIG, 01924 404112.
They are ace blokes who do mine.
They know their turbos inside out and this is simple basic stuff anyway.
A T34 escy uses a larger COMPRESSOR HOUSING, but is machined differently inside, and the T3 COMPRESSOR housing can be made the same size.
It is entirely possible to machine the inside of the T3 housing to T34 size, it will be this size internally but will not LOOK like it on the OUTSIDE, as I am having done at this very moment!!
You also want to get a 360 bearing and STEP GAP SEAL at same time, essential for more boost really.
Sierra cos use a .48 TURBINE(exhaust) housing, T34 escy, uses a .63 which will give more lag, they are all a compromise, but either andy or craig will talk you through it as much as you need, decent honest yorkshiremen they are.
You want to ask your self what power you want as this is the main deciding factor, always keeping the turbo as small as possible to do the job so less lag.
A lot of T3 crack the TURBINE housing, or wear away the pin/seat area so they will look at this also.
They will strip and report to you BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE, and they arrange collection delivery so dead easy.

T 34 with .48 standard stuff, for the moddy boys at turbocentre, and a 10 year gaurantee, or was it 1 year!!
If you send them your actuator they will also set max boost for you on it.
