how can i get sky in my bedroom?
i have it in the downstairs living room, but would like to also have it in my room, dont mind if i have to have the same channel on both (dont need 2 sky boxes)
ideally would like wireless, looked into the magic eye, but it involves running a co-ax which i cant do through the laminate floor and dont really want unsightly wires up my walls
any suggestions?

you use a wifi tv sender, i have one, the transceiver plugs into the back of the sky box, the receiver plugs into the back of the other tv in any room. it might be best to get 2 sky remotes, this system lets you change the channels as well.

Rory - haven't you got a co-ax cable running already?
Just installed Magic Eye in my brother's flat - remote in the bedroom to change sky from there. Granted you do need that co-ax, but we had the skirting up anyway...

so the sky will effectively be channel 6, and recieved through the RF output of the sky box?
will i still be able to get channels 1-5 through the sky co-ax lead?

You will need to run a seperate co-ax FROM the RF-2 output on your sky box TO the TV in your other room, then attach the TV Link (magic eye) to that end.
Either that, or get a wireless sender unit as mentioned above. Plug the sender into the RF-2 on the SKy box, then the receiver into the back of your TV, then get the magic eye so you can change channel from the other room.
You will need to tune sky into one channel, ie 6 as you mentioned, and all your sky channels will come through that. BBC 1 through to Channel 5 will be 101 to 105 though sky, but you won't get them on your normal 1-5 stations on the other TV. The RF-2 socket only send the same signal that you get from the sky box/dish itself, it won't send any stations received through your roof aerial as it's not involved in that loop
as far as I know anyway, and I've been at sky for 8 years now, lol.

what i was hoping was to have normal 1-5 and sky on 6
i could use a wireless AV unit but this would prevent me changing channels on sky
reason i ask for the above is often, someone may be watching sky down stairs and i still want channels 1-5. its just if i see something good on sky movies i can then go watch it in my room

to get normal channels 1-5 on your second TV, you'd need to connect your normal TV aerial, or buy one of the ones that sit on top of your tv.
If you wanted to watch a movie in your other room, you'd definitely need a connection fromt the RF-2 socket on your sky box.
Got a few mates who use the digi sender things to get TV in other rooms, but I've never used one so couldn't advise you on what's best, I just know what can and can't be done from the sky box itself.
Quickest and easiest solution is wirelss sender from living room to second room, with or without magic eye to change channels, and then connect your TV aerial to the second TV seperately (if it's not already connected) or buy one of the cheap indoor ones.
That's gonna go to pot when the analogue signal is ditched and you'll need a digital roof aerial, but at the moment you will be fine.

Yeah, for a tenner a month you can't go wrong tbh, same package in both rooms.
Just a hassle for some folk, having more holes drilled, both boxes needing to be connected to the telephone line etc.
Plus, installation fee's.
Best bet - sky+ with multiroom (if you dont mind the drilling/extra cables involved) think the install is free

Im not sure how the Sky magic eye will work with any other equipment, but you could give it a go.
The only problem with spending money on a Freeview system is that once the analogue signal is switched off, you'll need to get a digital aerial installed or you won't get any channels![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
Not for a while though, so might be an idea for a quick fix for you. You just wouldn't get the sky channels in the other room.
You will still have a spare input on your dish to get another box added, then you could either pay another £10 a month for the sky channels on it, or buy a Freesat card for £20 to get the free channels that way.
