Default What gearbox for escort cos running 450bhp?

What box would do the trick for this kind of power?
Also any rough guidelines towards price please?

Thanks.

Pete Doughty does a few from about 1500+
Quaife Bigtooth 2k+
Fixit 3k+ ( I think!)
R+D Dogbox 6k+
FFD 9k+

Then you start getting really saucy with the 15k+ sequential stuff

Budget for Ł2200 to Ł4k for Dome item (cheapest) to Quaife item (most expensive). Be warned that the Dome item uses standard input shaft at this price and this can be a weak link.

The best one is the Swedish kit (budget for just over Ł3k), but try getting hold of one .

Not to bad, who would you recommend getting one from?
Cheers.

If you are launching it, then not long...

You can be lucky, but then if its a genuine 450bhp you are going to start needing to replace the front diff and the front diff casing and thats another almost 2k job...

Rear diff is the next weakest link. 1k with a decent CWP

oh and needs a good clutch as well... Ł1k+ if you want a decent hydraulic one

If you don't go launching and can put up with the noise, go for the fully uprated Pete Dougherty one. If you want it to be civilised, you have no choice but to go for the Quaife.

As Lee has already stated, the gearbox is only part of the transmission. Even the at this level it is not a gaurantee that everything will stay together, as you are still using the standard crown wheel and pinions .

Oh dear is all i can say!!! Didnt realise about all of these other costs!

So 450bhp isnt really a very everyday car unless you got the cash to do all of the above mentioned work????????

er No and excuse my ignorance on how much a big power engines cost but say you spent 25k on the engine I would at least expect to spend another 15k maybe more on a good reliable tramission\diffs
