Default got caught 105MPH!

Cop on opposite site of slip road facing me, another 1 mile down the road pulled me in, basically court summons

What’s the good site for info, need to try at least and get out of it?

Any other advice on getting out of it?

Got to produce my documents and wait for the summons I suppose?

103 in a 70 limit in it self is not classed as dangerous driving.

I got caught doing 111mph on a quiet stretch of the A9 year and a half ago and was banned for 2 month and fined £350 quid

Was told to expect anything up to a 12 month ban and also possible resit of driving test !!!

All depends on the judge on the day i think mate as the one i got was seemingly the best of the bunch so worked in my favour.

Also my lawyer saying that i had sold my bike helped as well !

blue square my car , red square cop car parked up, who clocked me at 105, then radio'd through to another car about 1 mile up the road. was then pulled in and told to wait until the originall parked up ( red square on picture ) came , the cop from that car then took my details, and gave me a small bit of paper, with reason for stop ( offenes ticked ) and told me to produce the documents ( 7 days )

i told them nothing, incrimnating a hope! , didnt tell them what speed i was going etc,

they told me,

tho i didnt ask for any evidence either, he did have a black box about 4 x 3 x 5"s in his hand when he got out the car, left on his bonnet?

the scale of the diagram, somewhere between a mile to 1/2 a mile i think,

As said there are rules about the angles they can clock you at using radar and laser (to be scientific, it's something to do with Doppler effect and variations increasing as angles increase).
Lots of useful info on Pepipoo.

If both cars are operating Vascar over a measured distance, first car can clock you in and make a simple radio call to the second so he can clock you out as you pass their second marker (bridhe, lamp post or whatever.

second car wernt timing anythning, just parked up, will just have to wait and see if i get a summons, then ask for any evedince of the 105mph?

I take it i can ask for the evidence before court?

correct, they must produce evidence in court and yes you will be made aware of it (through your solicitor ) before the court case.

Interesting.

I have heard that if the police are not parked in a legal position that they ar enot able to take your speed reading. I have heard of one person evading a ticket this way.

It does seem quite strange for them to pick you up from the other side of the carriageway.

As above, go to pepipoo for more info.

ps. if it sticks you are over 100mph so expect a ban.

Make sure next time you take your car out you enjoy driving it just in case you get banned, otherwise just do your homework on it and hope for the best

i was told that breaking the limit by 30 mph is normally a banable offence so lets see what happens

can't see the diagram but if he's on the other side of the road he won't be able to do squat really, if you say there is a barrier in the way and the like anything could have bounced the beam back

a simple "I was driving along with the flow of traffic m'lud and the next thing i know i was asked to pull over by the officer in the car" should work in this case

At 105mph up the slip road he was passing do you mean?

From reading what others have put, the rules seem to have changed a bit since I was in the UK as over 100mph was a ban for normally a fair time. Maybe as more people are being caught at those speeds, different ban lengths are coming into play.

If the road was clear and weather was good, I feel for you mate. I am a believer in tightening up cameras around schools and pedestrian areas and relaxing a bit more on the motorways/dual A roads.

Is that why you have 2 Gold Member banners?

If this is the case, why do they bother using them, just to deter people?
