Default tyres keep going flat

ok well its not punctures, long story short bought a car that had been sat up couple years with flat tyres, sold the car but kept wheels, now after a couple days standing 3 wheels go flat, dont think punctures i think its just not seating on the bead properly, the car doent get used

spose ill have to get the tyres removed and checked but would it be worth me say putting n 40 psi and taking car for a good run? i did try it last year but only put 30 psi in

The tyres have either become mal formed and aren't sealing properly or the rubber has perished.

New tyres time.

my alloys kept doing this

just take your alloys down to a tyre place n get them checked

it probably just the alloys need skimming on the inner lip to make a better seal

usually slow punctures are caused by the inner part of the valve becoming loose.

First point of call is to tighten the inner part of the valve (the wee pin bit that u push to let the air out) if not, try the other methods.

Last time i had a slow puncture it worked perfectly. Saved me loads of time and effort

My brother owns a tyre fitting shop, and by the sounds of thing the tyre could have dried out with age causing the air to seep out,or there could have been moisture inside the tyre causing corrosion to the wheel and breaking the seal with the tyre causing air to leak

Long shot, but I have had air leak out of where a weight was clipped on the back of the wheel. Worth a look...

you can get at it with some thin long nose pliers and turn it clockwise

Borrow or buy a cheap child's paddling pool, half fill it with water, put the complete wheel in, top up with water till it's covered and look for where the leaks are.

Don't they teach anyone anything at school nowadays.

That slime stuff is shite.
Use ULTRASEAL, seals all punctures and no more slow leaks, will seal up to 6mm holes so screws etc can just be pulled out.
When I saw this stuff demoed to me it had 50(FIFTY) 4mm punctures put in the inflated tyre at 32psi, tyre was then spun and sealed perfect but did lose 1psi!!
No more scrap tyres as the "hole is to close to the edge" etc just pull out object and drive, safe for all cars and bikes, used in NI for the troops, amd also STINGER PROOF(it seals the tubes!!) so useful for any budding bank robbers.

I'm a fitter

Deteriation of the tyre causing it to leak out the sidewalls is a rare occurace mate.

Its a simple bead seal that all, they'll take the tyres off scrub the lip of the rim up with a wire brush and put proper sealer on it , its only a thick glue and works better than anythin with no mess , dont put the slime in it'll make a right mess mate and isnt needed.

my old dust caps had the tool on the top ..handy

worse thing is with low profile skins is they look ok ..till you drive away

no wobble or fook all ..then you get the EVIL smell ..after a mile driving

Ł120 for f1s is a pain in the arse
