Default Stereo removal

Might sound like a dumb question but...

How the hell do I remove the standard Ford 6000 RDS stereo from my Mondeo?

Tried everything I can think of yet still cant get the bloody thing to move

Have you got the special removal tool? you just push it into the 2 holes until it clicks and out she comes with abit of pulling

Nope no tool

All I wanna do is pull the fecking thing out to get the serial no so i can obtain the code...charged battery last week and got nothing with the code written on

Hate driving without the radio 2

Next Qu: Anybody in Middlesbrough area got this tool thing I can borrow then

If you push those in, then pull them outwards as in towards the wing mirrors, it will just slide straight out

Any specific pattern on the end of this tool or is it something I can make myself with pieces of wire?

yeah there is so i dout you could make anything to be honest just pop to halfords and ask someone if its possible to borrow a removal tool for 5mins if not they only cost pennys

chop up a coathanger.

does the same if not better job.

Tricks:
If its a tape deck stick ur fingers in the tape deck and wiggle.

If not, when ur holdin the pins, push both sets towards each other, and slightly up and again, wiggle them from side to side

You dont say which year mondeo.

The stereo keys shown wont do the new shape mondeo stereo- without the correct keys you're fucked if its a new one.

Its hard enough with the keys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can make your own out of a wire coat hanger if its the old shaped...

I cut the ends off mine anyway or they can get stuck in the locking mechanism.

Stick em in the 4 holes and pull out towards the wing mirrors and you should be able to pull it forward.

Don a hoody, a tracksuit and some rockport boots, you'll magically gain the power to remove the stereo without anyone seeing..................
