No, it makes no real difference if the disc is vented or solid - try a different pad compound.

Just in case you're considering buying cross drilled - don't do it. Slotted or dimpled is OK but drilled tend to crack under hard use - looking at the size of your discs I imagine they get quite hot so best to avaoid drilled discs.

I find my DS2500 dusting easy to clean, I once ran EBC Greenstuff and they didn't dust much at all.

Charlie Chalk

you can buy rubber or plastic disks that fit behind the wheels ..but then you may have heat issues with the brakes...

if you dont drive flat out all the time they may solve your problem..

the new type out ATM

Not surprised your DS;s are easy to clean off - you fucking sealed them when you glazed them over, Silver

No squeal here - they tend to squeal at first but after 500km it should go away - if not you need to take the pads out, clean everything and refit with copper/aluminium paste on the back and sides of the pad - basically anywhere it contacts the calliper.

Thanks for reply, done over 500m now. not sure that it is a copper ease cure as i dont think its the pad caliper knid of noise.

As JJ kindly points out, i think i have glazed the surface and might need to lightly buff up the face of the pads on a level surface to deglaze them.

just take your wheels off, clean them thouroughly, then apply a few layers of wheel sealent, and it will make cleaning the wheels sooo much easier!

you make him sound like one of the bufty brigade

vented discs disipate more heat that solid ones, the brake dust issue is all down to the pad and it's use

if, like me, you only clean your car anually then you might have a problem (in the 9 years i've owned the estate i think i've only washed it twice but i wash the mondeo every week at work ) but te main problem is going to be a uild up of brake dust, if you keep on top of it it won't be a problem, but when it starts to build up it tends to pit the alloys and lift the laquer off too

I couldnt give to shits if they get dirty, its the fact the brake dust is making the laquer lift, and the wheels will get pitted...

Doing them matt black tomorrow anyway, providing the weather holds out
