The Nurburgring is to see a Formula 1 car in action for the first time in 31 years when BMW Sauber run its F1.07 on the Nordschleife as part of a celebration of BMW's racing heritage on the 28th April. Nick Heidfeld will drive the 12.9 mile circuit, and while officially it's not a record attempt, the 6miin 11sec set in 1983 by Stefan Bellof in a group C Porsche 956 might be under threat

Be interesting to see, but how would it cope going over the bumps on that one corner in the circuit?

you mean the karussel? apparently it's been resurfaced this year. otherwise, just drive around the top

you don't have to drive "in" the carrousell (sp?) there's a flat bit at the top of the bank for girls

I think it's the bit around the top which they are redoing - but it will probably be finished by then.

Driving around the top is for wips - if I was Nick I'd put the F1 stright into that corner who cares if something gets scrped - it's not his money is it.
