Being lazy as I cant be arsed having the 15 minutes debate with my local ford dealer if they still do them or not............so

Can you still buy the genuine ones from fords?

Are the 2WD and 4WD rear shafts the same diameter? ie Same gaiters?

don't know baout fords but the 2wd ones are bigger than the 4wd ones (which are the same size as all the other sierra rear gaitors)

the 2wd shaft is a lot bigger than the 4wd shaft as well

How can I tell what shafts I have?

My car has a 7 inch diff and black driveshaft bolts (not blue).

Points towards them being 4WD as I think the 2WD used the blue bolts. Question is can you mix and match the bolts? Could they be 2WD shafts using 4Wd bolts to the 4WD diff?

Any part numbers available?

PCD of the cv bolts is different (I think )

108 = 2wd cosi (7.5" diff) others are 100.

the rwd used T45 bolts, the 4wd used T40 bolts
not too sure if the threads were different though but now ford will sell you T45 bolts only
