Default WRC Portugal All 06 Focus WR cars given 5 minute penalty

Ive just read that all the Ford Focus 06 WRC cars have been given a 5 minute penalty each due to the rear side windows being 0.5mm thinner than the original homoligation thicknes

Of course it is stupid to fit different parts than the homoligation, but the weight of the cars was above the minimum weight, so it's not as if they gained anything by it
A time penalty was not needed IMO.

And Loeb not needing it to become champion......... he wasn't leading the championship until now.

Totally agree....

The only way Fords will get a drivers champion is if Loeb is in the car.

Fords need to sort more than the rear windows out...it's a fookin ugly car.

its platic and they buy it in the same as other wrc firms do. more than likely some other wrc team use the same company as they do and knew the plastic was thinner than it should be, ammended their own issues first and the blew the ford team in for using thinner plastic. same glass has been used for years i would imagine plus all the stobbart cars will be using the same stuff as they are built there.

Wasnt Marcus' car actually below the minimum required weight? As I recall they were damned lucky to get away with that citing lost body parts en route (namely his rear bumper)

I was SO annoyed when I heard about the time penalty.. Just Ford's luck to get such a hefty penalty over 0.5mm! Like some have said rules is rules but would Mr. Wilson really have known the windows were 3mm instead of 3.5mm? Maybe he's just put an order in for a set of homoligated windows assuming the company have the correct dimensions?

Agree with the old Focus, the 03/04 World car was by far the best looking. I actually like the new Subaru just dont liek the new Focus at all.

The nicest World Car ever made was either the Hyundai Accent

technically, you can gain an advantage by having lighter parts up high, and putting the weight at the bottom to get a lower centre of gravity

I loved Colin McRae! I think he was one of the most spectacular drivers there has ever been…maybe not the fastest but very very entertaining.

Loeb might be fast but he’s boring as hell to watch

I'm a big fan of Solberg also

how can you say you hate colin mcrae and love richard burns without actually know both guys?

You might not like one persons driving style etc but to say you HATE him is a bit strong is it not?

Oh and Paul...Im sure Colin cares that you hate him
