Default saff running hot.

hi guys, yet another question from me, today i took my car for a drive roughly 30miles and after about 10 mins the car was running quite hot. as you look at the temp gauge on the dash the needle was touching the letter (N) where it says NORM just about to go onto the red block. my car is a 4x4 running stage 1, 280bhp surely it shouldnt be running that hot, any advice please. cheeRS

maybe a jammed thermo stat?

fooked water pump?

the car shouldnt get that hot if it has constant air thru the rad.

Faulty fans would only show up in stop/start traffic.

My last saff ran at R on the guage and fans kicked in just above the O but this isn`t anything to go by mate as they all can be different , get down and bridge your fan switch to see if your fans are coming on , could be a fooked fan switch etc

if the thermostat isnt opening then the water going thru the heater matrix will be quite cold.

More than likely that the thermostat is opening but just alot later than it should.

Mines is an 88 deg one and it opens just before that.

easiest checks first, is there plenty water in header tank?

run the car up to temp(fans on/off) with header tank cap off to clear any air locks then try again.

if its the same replace the thermo.
if its the same then its most likely a circulation prob....blocked rad?
