Default Does anyone know anything about LAD Motorsport?

Basically since i've sold my xr2 i've been thinking about getting a 205 GTi as it's a car i've wanted since I was a kid. Thing is I really can't be bothered with all the hassles of going to look at loads so would prefer to just find a company that will source me what I want which is a shell with no rust! My plan is to eventually take it to NMS or somewhere similar to work some magic on the engine, maybe Mi16 it or sommat. Tarmac Spec bilsteins, cage etc etc. I just want a mint shell to start with.

So what I really want to know is does anyone know anything about LAD motorsport? Any opinions or comments would be appreciated as I really know very little about them. http://www.ladmotorsport.co.uk

Cheers for reading.

Ernie has been around for ages

Built some nice cars with big budgets. Don't expect it all done for nothing
Get something mint and IMHO you will never use it to its potential. Build an everyday tidy good looking car with some good bits on it and you will have much more fun

avoid big power figures quoted but most end up with empty wallets

mate had a head and cams fitted to his 02 reg saxo vts he had it back 1/2 a day and it started boiling over had it taken back to them at his expense only to find they had machined the head so much that it had left less than a 1/2mm thickness in the water jacket wall and it bust threw they tried saying it was his fault for driving the car so hard

I'm not interested in a mint 205. I just want one that isnt rusty, and doesnt have any filler on it. Not bothered about a few scratches and parking dents etc. I want to do exactly what you say and build one up thats just a tidy looking car.

It does really have to be a gti shell just because i'm not aiming to spend loads and loads of money just a decent amount to make it fun without having to worry too much about hurting it.

Cheers for the input

As said above L.A.D Motorsport are one of the best tuners in the country. My dad has just had his 106 rallye engine fully rebuilt(not fit yet)by them and Ernie was very helpfull and really knows his stuff. They have been around for ages and powered many rallycars.
Im currently looking for a 205gti to start road rallying in and will be taking mine there if it has any major problems
