Default phase sensor

Ok bit of help needed wot exactly does a phase senor do and where does it go?

reason i ask is I know cossies have them but my wifes kia is not running well and I poped it on the machine and it comes up as phase sensor fault

Any help apreciated

The phase sensor determines what cycle the engine is on.

This is becuse the crank rotates twice for a full firing order of all 4 cylinders.

As for the Kia, fook knows
Could be located on the cam shaft or dizzi (if its got one)

I'm sure the KA is not batch fired so will have a phase sensor somewhere, but could be incorparated with another.
PHASE sensor is needed to determine phase for injector firing, as they are sequential, or semi sequential, would not have one if batch fired esp as KA uses coilpack, and wasted spark.

i cant find any tech information which can help you out sorry

like said,, it will be mounted on a cam or any other pulley which is twice the size of the crank pully

it could look like anything being honest,, and it could either have two or three cores of wire going to
