Default Red and repaint.......*Now with Pic*

Right what would you do?

If the overall car was straight, but had few knicks ere and there, and a scratch on the front wing would you still buy it, if was competivley priced? The car is straight im looking at but has nasty scratch on front wing which will need paint! Now one thing that is worrying me is when its painting its going to stand out as red is a coont and under a street light it will stand out

just dont know what to do atm

Its also just had some body work around the scuttle...Im putting trust into the body shop doing it LOL.. As being a painter myself, I know how hard it is to get a perfect match!

Only time will tell I guess...

The red on a type r isn't particularly bright so I reckon you will get away with it. Just take it to a bodyshop that you trust.

IF u got someone who knew what they were doing to mix to the aint then u'll solve half the problem Rhys...

It will be a pain as Rad has said but getting a perfect match is a cunt on red... (Silver is the hardest BTW)

I wouldn't let that put me off buying the car.

If it's a type r make sure the oils been topped up alot, and it has a full service history.

RED or any other colour is a piece of piss to match if you know what you are doing.
The worst thing is it will not stay matched as paint fades at different rates, and on different areas of car as more areas are subject to sunlight than others, reds tend tio LOOK worse as most have PINK primers.
I had the front end of my car painted, just wings and bonnet, paint was redyed until the painter was happy, panels test painted and left to dry first so mix could be accurately assesed, he is insurance approved, and has a lot of exotic cars to do paint on, and bodywork, but not cheap.
The paint I and he uses is £90 a litre, but you get what you pay for.

I agree with the above, I had some spray work done on my silver fez, they sprayed a corner of a bumper and it was impossible to see where they blended it!!

Apparently there is the boggo standard paint and a more expensive type ICI? pay for the more expensive, and have it feathered in across the door and the smooth transfer across the two should make it very hard to spot!!

ginge harder said than done Most of them have been chaved up etc. This is nice std straight car with this mark. Its nice but dunno putting me off a bit, will have a think. Thinking it would get away with a blow over to try and make less noticable dunno.

know what you mean about red paint fading, but i bufty the cars alot! and will be keep'd tip top so hopefully fadding will be kept to minimum.
